I like your story about why you took it. Also, I agree with the suggestion of darkening the white spots in the background or even a dark black background. |

Making the background darker really makes the flower detail pop. It almost looks like a 3-D photo without the glasses. |

I like how it turned out and agree that making the grey to show more texture would have more impact. I would also try experimenting with other colors for the door and suggest a bright turquoise as an alternate. In New Mexico, I have seen adobe houses with bright turquoise doors. |

I like your explanation and I, too, have been inspired by good light streaming in and took a picture which would have been ordinary but for the light became much better. Also like how you darkened background, it really makes the picture. |

I like your creation. I had not heard of burning steel wool for photographic reasons and googled it. There is a wealth of how-to information out there. I will put this idea on my to-do list. |

Excellent exposure and detail. I agree with the other two that suggested cropping off the horizontal portion above the top horizontal post. I would still leave it as a horizontal format as the cold sky and ice add to the cold feeling of the picture. |
