21 Apr 18 Reply That's a good idea too, John - possibly a pano without the water. Hmmmm! Apr 26th
21 Apr 18 Reply I see what you mean about the S-curve of the water's edge, Brian. Now the question is, do I want to go through all that work to recrop the image! LOL Maybe, in time, I will! Thanks for pointing it out. Apr 23rd
21 Apr 18 Comment OK! Here's the original. As you can see, I didn't have much to work with. The original image is quite flat with little or no definition. Apr 22nd
21 Apr 18 Comment John, I attended the Albuquerque Balloon Festival myself a few years ago and found it to be spectacular. It can be difficult to capture a good shot with all the balloons there but your composition is awesome. The monochrome doesn't quite work for me, possibly because I know how rich the colors can be. Maybe by using a Curves adjustment you could bring out some of the lighter tones and increase its appeal. Apr 21st
21 Apr 18 Comment Thank you, Brian and Nancy! While this may not be a competition-type photo, I wanted to create an image that improved upon what I had to work with. I appreciate your comments. Apr 21st
21 Apr 18 Comment Your image is lovely, Nancy! I like the creative angle by which you took the photo, and the post-processing, including the change of direction and the golden border of the texture, make this a winner! Well done! Apr 11th
21 Apr 18 Comment The green, blue, and purple tones are certainly eye-catching, Barrie, but there doesn't seem to be a connection or purpose to the color scheme. It may need a center of interest to unify all the elements. Apr 11th
21 Apr 18 Comment I love the starkness of your image, Brian. The black lamp and bracket set against the white background is striking. I'm not sure about the blurred lamp and the sharp bracket though. I wonder if keeping both the bucket and the lamp sharp and adding a blur only to the bulb, or even adding a yellow color to the bulb might have a more dramatic effect. Apr 11th
21 Apr 18 Comment Your image is very interesting, Joan, and shows a skill for making selections. I'm not sure if that was your intent. I think you have the makings for at least 3 different images here. I'd love to see one of them developed fully. Apr 11th
