This is beautiful, Nellie! I have begun doing more and more work using textures and find it very relaxing - at least when I get the results I want! But yours is truly beautiful! A great choice of textures and superb skills at hiding the unwanted areas.

Your image is beautiful, Peter! I love the effect you achieved. While I already have Nik and Topaz products, I was disappointed to discover that Reactor Player is only available for Windows -and I have a Mac. But lucky you to have access to it and the ability to create something so lovely.

You are too kind, Bev! Thank you so much. This was a trip that was made for photographers. |

Thanks, Barrie. I like your suggestion about cloning out that square object in the water. I hadn't even noticed it until you mentioned it. Thanks again! |

Thanks, Brian. Yes, it was a great trip and photographing the way of life we witnessed there was a high point of the trip. I tried processing the image without the texture but didn't care for any of the results I got. The texture seemed to transform it into a painting although I had hoped to find a good beige/brown color scheme instead. But that didn't work out. Thanks for your input though. I appreciate it. |

Thanks for your comments, Joan. I did remove one of the reflections in the upper part of the image but left the others for the reasons you mentioned.
As for textures, I make many of my own textures, too. Some were made from photos I took of such objects as sand, gravel, rust, etc and others that I created with Photoshop and Painter brushes. As for rules concerning textures, my local club does not ban them. And although I disapprove of some of the new textures that use images like flowers, trees, etc as part of the texture, I don't believe that a single texture should be banned any more than using the tools within PS might be banned. To me, it's like adding adding a graduated colored background in PS, or using a Gaussian blur to add drama to an image. I realize rules have to be followed but that's my feeling about this one. |

Nancy, I like your flower images and enjoyed hearing about your processing technique. I have just one suggestion. Would you consider extending the stem on the monochrome image so it reaches the bottom of the "page"? As it is, it seems to be floating. I think extending it would produce a stronger image. |

I have a feeling that the original photo was a great one, Barrie. I realize you said the color scheme you chose was a joke but when I saw it, I wondered how it would look using Topaz Studio's AI ReMix, a new software adjustment tool that gives varied colors to an image and looks good at extremely low opacities. If you have it, I'd give it a try. |

Brian the leading lines in the road bring the viewer right to the building in the center. I also like the leaves and stars that you added but I find that my eyes keeps drifting to the left and right to view them rather than the center of the image - the building. I wonder if the right side were cropped so that "icy leaves" became a major part of a scene that shows the passage of time and the road upon which our lives take us. If that sounds too deep, I apologize. |

I love your image, Joan! The swirl of the colorful dress and the stark contrast of the black pant legs are perfect. I did notice some black markings on the dress that you might have overlooked. They're at the upper part of the photo just to the right of the black pants. I think they could be easily cloned out. But I love what you've done! |

Sorry! My original file was too large. Here's my suggestion now.

I realize this round is almost over but I just stopped by this group tonight and had a suggestion. I like the idea of cropping the left side of the photo but I'd try leaving just a bit of the multicolored section visible since it's a combination of colors. It's just a thought but here's what I'd suggest.
