Regarding judges responses to this type of image I think you are correct - some judges do not enjoy these as they do not regard them as 'proper' phototgraphs even though the have all originated in camera. Just last week our small club had a well respected international judge for our competition who marked down all images that had an artistic feel to them.
For myself I enjoy making images that are not just ordinary shots and I will take my chances with the judges.		 Sep 12th
18 Sep 22 Comment I suspect the black at the bottom is the water supply pipe, but as this is an abstract image it is surplus to requirements. The other stripes do not bother me as I feel thay add to the textured effect. Sep 9th
18 Sep 22 Comment What a great jod Topaz has done with the cornfield. You have certainly mastered bird photography as the magpie original is so sharp. Putting the two elements together has worked very well indeed. Sep 9th

18 Sep 22 Comment A very interesting effect which works so well on the cliff but leaves the sky with a problem - perhaps a crop down from the top would help, but I think more texture needed in the sky which will still be left. Not sure I can offer a solution. By the way though I use Topaz I have not come across the one you mention. Sep 9th
