Could not pass this one by when browsing this month's images. What a super image Nick - you always manage to raise a smile with your creative work. Excellent work with the various giraffe elements and beautiful colour contrast with the car. |

The border was created using the FX option ( at bottom of the layers box) in Photoshop cc.
Clicking on fx shows a drop down menu with a number of option one of which is 'inner glow'. This opena window where you choose the opions that suit you image, colour , opacity, noise size etc. In this case I chose black as the colour. It is acoice I often use for my images. Hope that helps. |

Certainly it is altered reality so I take your point, nevertheless I thought the blue just a bit OTT. |

There is no prohibition in DD of elements which are not your own. Jim was just flagging up the issue. |

Gerald, a very warm welcome to DD18 and a very strong first contribution with this composite.
I do think 'the blue ridge mountains of Virginia' are just a little over the top and Jim's attempt I find more appealing. The sand looks really great though and I would keep it as presented. If you can move the dancer to the left then I would agree with Jim that it would be better than the central placement. |

What an interesting addition this would make for the coupl's weeding album. So different from all those carefully posed shots. You have done a great job of cutting out the girl but I do wonder if a slight reduction in her size might leave her not so dominant in the finished work. |

This is a fine image and not one that I would consider changing. It is interesting what you can see in this type of image and I seenot a face but an insect staring out of the center. The frame is a nice finishing touch. |

It would be really helpful to see the originals of your work as the finished piece does not allow us to see how things have been changed. Are you able to post the original file?
As I look critically at this mono work I see a couple of distractions - the solid black area just behind the star and the hint of a line, perhaps the coving on the backgound which both require attention.

My experience when using the Topaz expression filter is that it is all too often just too vivid and I need to reduce the opacity for a pleasing result.
In your image it works really well on the rows of red tulips on the left hand side but becomes a little confused on the face itself, so Jerry's suggestion of dodge and burn would help. Alternatively you could consider using the sponge tool.
Just a bit more work to do I think. |

Think you are correct about the reindeer. As I view the image now they are distracting but they were not when I created the image!!! Shows how helpful it is to have others commenting on our work and just what Digital Dialogue is about.
So now you have five new projects on the back burner Jerry - hope to see some results soon. |

Who would have thougtt this started off as a bit of carpet?!
Very colourful and perfect for a square image. I can see faces and a bird amongst the array of colours. |

I think the reworked image suitably reduces the greeness of the face and the smaller bugle s also a good touch. |

A fascinating image and great work to produce the blue flower frame for the face. All those flowers in my garden too but I never thought to use them in this way. The only thing that bugs me is the green skin which looks so unatural. |

Very well done a really punchy shot. Your seeing an image, but missing it first time round but then returning again with your camera has paid off. Just consider a thin stoke border to hold it together. |

Angela, I have been shooting bluebells this year too as they have put on a good show for us in Wales. However I had not thought about using ICM. Your result is very pleasing with those pastle shades. Personally I would leave the trees as they are as I think darkening them would upset the mood. |
