I still prefer the original - the bright spots now cause me to be distracted as they become the brightest part of the image. |

Using the oil paint filter works well enough for me but I would have considered using the sharpening tool on the building whislt leaving the surrounding foliage blurry.
Another way to work on this would be to try it in Topaz simplify where you will find mono presets that you can tweak to taste. I have used it on a few occassions and though I was happy with the result few judges have rated them worthy of acceptance. But then we make images primarily for ourselves and if other like them so much the better. |

What a beautiful image Tom. The blossom is so sharp and the reflections work so well. There is nothing that I would wish to change.
Thank you so much for sharing the details of the tutorials which I'm sure will be of great interest to all members. |

Your combination of the various plug-ins had produced an interesting image with lots of shapes created by the fallen trees and branches. Perhaps the trees could be darkened a little. As your intention was to concentrate on these shapes then excluding the sky was in my view the right thing to do. |

It's all a matter of taste isn't it? In this instance I did not wish to have a believable sky but an alterered reality feel. |
