5 Jun 17 Reply Hi Barbara, It was said that shaving came about in WW 2 because of the need to wear gas masks. But not every body had to do that. I think that it was more to prevent the spread of infection because of close living in barracks, on board ship or even in trenches. Remember that school children had regular checks by a visiting nurse, checking for flees and nits, even after the wars. Jun 11th
5 Jun 17 Comment I cannot agree that this is a tender moment. She is having her face brushed by a man with a shaggy beard. It is the present fashion, presumably, in the USA as well as on my side of the pond. with young men returning to the age of our ancesters, the apes. Jun 11th

13 Jun 17 Comment From Group 23. I think that this is fantastic. You were lucky to be there at the right time. It should do well in Mono Exhibitions. I think that I would crop the bottom up to the tops of the lower rocks at right and left, and a smidgen off the top to get rid of those untidy bits of rock up there. This would give more prominence to the dancers. 23 Jun 17 Comment Yes Linda, my garden has been really beautiful this year. Earlier, I had bushes of Golden yellow and red azalias, which I had grown from seed collected at National Parks nearby. Other bushes are now beginning to come into flower as well as bedding Geraniums. Jun 26th
23 Jun 17 Comment To add to the storey, I should have liked to have seen the whole of the old building and the track in front of it. Perhaps that would have made it too cluttered. Jun 26th
23 Jun 17 Comment I still think that the artistic shape of the foreground is what makes the picture. The dark overbearing clouds and trees in the background are what spoils the picture for me. Hence, I would crop them out. Jun 25th
23 Jun 17 Reply The inclusion of the coal adds to the storey. Jun 21st
23 Jun 17 Comment How about cloning the heron and turning him round on the right side so as to be looking at the spume waves. Jun 19th
23 Jun 17 Comment Looking at this again, I would think that the artistic shape of the landscape and beauty, would gain more prominence if the top was cropped to just above the snowy white line. ie to eliminate the clouds and most of the dark landscape at the rear. If you move the picture upwards on your screen, you will see what mean. Jun 16th
23 Jun 17 Comment Brian. If you still want to crop, may I suggest to keep the fence by the track and eliminate some of those on the far left.
I think that the old buildings on the right add to the scene of past times.

23 Jun 17 Comment The pathway makes a nice lead through the picture. Depending on the time of day, there are many pictures to be found here.
May I suggest, cropping the left side to exclude the sombre looking building, and, say, two inches off the top to exclude some of the blue sky, and give more prominence to the towers and the roadway.

23 Jun 17 Comment This is lovely picture of the landscape leading up to the geyser and beyond. The colors on the right are fascinating, stopping at the geyser. Jun 9th
23 Jun 17 Comment The under side of the mushroom shows the nature of it's stripe and Gills. I should like to have seen a bit more of it's top. Jun 9th
23 Jun 17 Reply Yes Brian. I got it wrong.I should have said - left ! Jun 9th
23 Jun 17 Reply It was a white garden post which I tried to clone out - rather unsuccessfully. I have attached another version, but signs of the white post still persist between the blossom heads.

23 Jun 17 Comment Sign of the times. How things used to be. This is old narrow gauge railway, used on mines and industrial sites. Looking at the crooked state of the tracks on the right, I wonder about successful usage, but, as you see, the rail surfaces are bright. Jun 8th
23 Jun 17 Comment It must have felt very overpowering with the river winding it's way through that mountainous wall of rocks. You have captured the silkiness of the water as it bubbles it's way through and I like the highlights on the wet rocks. Well done!
Is that some kind of animal that I see in the water towards the bottom right of the picture? A walrus or a mermaid perhaps. There is another overturned just beyond and to the left of it.

23 Jun 17 Comment The bird is wonderfully sharp and the setting enhances it. I particularly like the shapes in the tidal spume as the waves hit the shore. Magic. May I suggest cropping the top to get rid of the hard black lines. This would also centralise the height of the bird in the picture. Jun 3rd

30 Jun 17 Comment This is a fascinating what is it ? How about streaking the colors on the right to give it the feeling of movement, or even going into orbit. Jun 16th
30 Jun 17 Comment I have to add that I didn't see the dancers at first. Now that they have been mentioned, I have found what must be their faces in the green coloring at top right. Jun 16th
30 Jun 17 Comment I am in Group 23. I am that kind of photographer who sees things, so I hope can accept an input from me. I have had a look at this, but my mind says legs. So I have prepared my own version as you can see. I cropped the top to just below the sprig sticking out and also cloned out the fallen tree trunk from centre and left. Then I cropped an inch or so off the left to place the legs more central. But I left the naked looking legs on the right to add some mystery. Jun 3rd
