The problem I have is that you have done something that I might not have done, and I cannot therefore make any intelligent comment on how I might change/improve it. The end result is always that the photographer should end up with an image which pleases him/her, and what other folk think of the image is neither here nor there! |

Good image. It might be a good idea to flip the image, but I prefer your original version which keep the yellow bits! |

Or even - Water Color?
Or just leave a good image alone! |

I'm not sure that you need to add a painterly effect, but playing around with Topaz Artistic looks you could try Swirly Strokes |

Diana does a lot of abstract work, partly for backgrounds, but also to stand on their own. The point I was trying to make was nothing to do with competitions etc but whether the final product was aesthetically pleasing in its own right, regardless of what it started out as. In the end it is a personal decision, but to my mind, your image is an unfinished piece of work, and needs further work before it can stand on its own as an artistic expression. |

I think this treatment is better. I should have also reduced the light patch on the left hand side. |

I think perhaps the background has been taken too far and does not look natural enough. |

Interesting effect, but you have to ask the question - is the final version a picture in its own right? Does it stand on its own as an image? My wife does a lot of work like this but only to produce backgrounds. |
