I agree that the contrast between the deep blue and the red is a bit harsh, but I still think your original in a square format might be effective |

Can you make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. Most judges I know say that it is impossible. I decided to prove them wrong by taking a poorly focussed image taken on 1.2 mexapixel camera to see if I could get it accepted in an international and I did!
If eventually I find it, I may show you. I think the problem with this image is the lack of sharpness in the end of the pink which still shows in your final version. I tried cutting off a bit, going wild with Twirl and then adding an artistic effect in Topaz. It's probably horrible, but here's a challenge for the rest of the group. Why not see what you can make of Bob's original? |

It would make a good design for a card, but I wonder if it would work better as either a square or landscape format rather than in its present portrait mode. |

A magnificent beast, Unfortunately his antlers sort of get lost against the pattern of the trees. If you can darken the background sufficiently to remove the distraction of the other animals and the pattern of the trees without darkening his antlers that would be good. |

I like the sweep of the mane, but I am not sure of the composition. I thought perhaps more of the horses head should be shown, then thought better of that! Perhaps a little more needed on the right so that the eye and the ear weren't quite so close to the edge. Then decided I did not really know what to do to improve it. |

I might crop it top and bottom. Have added a water colour effect in Topaz. Does that enhance it? |
