We have tried to get shots of these - it's very difficult - often because of the very nature of their nests. If you are not intending to enter it into a nature competition. then I would explore reducing the colour of the green leaves at the bottom, and think about working on the twig in the front, but a great image anyhow |

Lovely view. Why do folk build roads and paint lines to spoil our pictures! I think we have two or three groups of Californian poppies on our allotment - nothing as good as this. I agree that it might do with a little more sharpening! |

Good sharp image. I agree that it needs a little more space at the top |

The cactus and the boulders are well placed in the image - a very effective composition. I might be inclined to work on drawing out more of the sky detail. |

Having spent the morning, as usual, on our allotment where we grow fruit and vegetables, I appreciate this image. We picked spinach today. We have a still life competition in our club next season, so we might try to emulate this - although I don't think our tomatoes ever looked this good!
I might have been inclined to darken down some of the bright white aspects of your image. |

The black and white treatment is effective. If you did choose to have a longer stalk showing, then you need to bring the stalk in from an angle, rather than straight up |

The original sky was grey, and I made sure that the replacement sky was not too bright. |

As I said before on this page the original sky was very grey and I avoided having too bright a blue sky when I imported it! |
