23 Jul 18 Reply If you want to skew an image in order to straighten out a building then you need to make sure that you photograph far more than you want because skewing etc removes a lot of the image.

Your Mono version is best.

23 Jul 18 Reply Perhaps even keep the whole image but introduce some water using Flaming Pear's Flood Plugin Jul 25th
23 Jul 18 Comment I'm not sure about the cropping - perhaps a square format might be better Jul 25th
23 Jul 18 Comment Nice image - you were lucky, or you chose your day, to have a textured sky rather than just plain blue.
What do think about lassoing the sky and increasing the blue?

23 Jul 18 Comment Part of me is horrified that children are subjected to this. Agreed it would have been good to get the whole headdress in, but it still works as a good story.
I think her face is a bit dark. There are many ways of lightening it, but I quickly added a Nik Color Efex High Key layer and then dialled down the opacity.

23 Jul 18 Reply A friend of ours, who freely admits to being a nerd, has looked at the various success rates in exhibitions according to the format. The most successful format appears to be the square format, the least successful format is the portrait mode.
If you really prefer the landscape format then I think this one has more potential, once work has been done on the background. The crop needs to be made at the bottom as the nearest post is out of focus.

In the end, it's your photo and what you like is the most important thing.

23 Jul 18 Reply I sometimes get annoyed with organisations like FIAP and some judges who seem to believe that there is an objective standard in photography whereas in reality all judgements are subjective, and we are going to have different standpoints. My objection to the leading line is that instead of leading towards the bird, I find it leading away from the bird. One judge I know, always isolates part of the image and asks whether there is any interest in that part of the image, and whether it serves any useful purpose. Do the two posts really add anything to the image? Jul 11th
23 Jul 18 Comment Sometimes by accident we get an interesting image - this is one. Like Richard I wonder about cropping the large tree on the left Jul 10th
23 Jul 18 Reply Her feet were not showing. An attempt was made to create the impression of a fish tail but it didn't really come off in the images I took. You can see that in the Original 1 & 2.

Mermaid tails are normally shown as green so I might have a go at changing the colour and adding some scales!

23 Jul 18 Reply Is this a better crop? Jul 9th
23 Jul 18 Comment Or even then use Topaz Gritty Grunge to get this effect.

Perhaps then it could be used as a background and put something interesting in front!

23 Jul 18 Comment It is difficult to take buildings like this and to get the vertical right. I don't think that this is a sufficiently interesting building to make a good architectural image. All you can do is play around with it.
Using PS Skew Transform, adjust the building to make it more vertical, then Filter, Extreme Plaster Wrap, then alter the colour balance and you get this effect

23 Jul 18 Comment Splendid capture of this bird. However, there is too much behind the bird that is unnecessary and the bird is therefore looking out of the picture. Crop both left and below to make a better balanced image with the emphasis firmly on the bird itself. Jul 9th
23 Jul 18 Comment Is it better if I crop a bit more from the right side? Jul 9th
23 Jul 18 Comment The set up arranged thus was the idea of a friend at the photoshoot that wanted to get the effect of a mermaid and she brought the bubble gun - we would never have thought of it! Jul 8th
