20 Jan 18 Comment The blue areas don't bother me, after all, they were in the original and the yellow of the squashes is strong and dominant, overshadowing the pale blue. The ink lines are a bit strong though and might be better if toned done about 50%. Jan 9th
20 Jan 18 Comment Your manipulations really livened up your original photo, changing it from something mundane into an interesting and colourful image. Jan 9th
20 Jan 18 Comment I too use the distort filter a lot. It's the only way I can resize and reshape the masks to fit Tinker.
But you have taken the distort filter to a higher level in this image. The flower has become transformed into a wispy delicate shape and seems to be dancing in the wind.
The lavender gradient is a perfect complement to the flower. And I think I have to vote for the single flower -- by a very slim margin!

20 Jan 18 Comment What a great eye you have that can see an interesting contemporary painting in a photo of mud!!
I have taken photos of those mud pots in Yellowstone but never did it occur to me to transform them!

Full marks for creative thinking and also for the treatment you gave them. Your technique gave depth and interest to the mud image.

20 Jan 18 Comment Welcome to our group, Kathryn. I think you are too self-critical! As I see it, your final image is delightful and the idea does work. As for the background, to me it looks like my favorite "Paper Vellum" that I used eons ago when I still actually wrote letters with pen and ink! Jan 9th
20 Jan 18 Comment I like the idea of blending the images of two separate generations together. However, if it were mine, I might have made the father's image somewhat larger than the son's to make it show that that the son was following his father's lead. And as the final image was so obviously full of nostalgia, perhaps I might also have added a hint of sepia throughout. Jan 9th
