19 Apr 18 Comment great use of a tricky technique, Tracy. I vote with the "remove" side regarding the weeds. They grab the eye and keep you from moving thru the picture. The bright spot on the fender does the same thing. YOu can dramatically change the 'story' of the picture just by changing the high lights. Apr 14th
19 Apr 18 Comment Don't you just hate it when people look at your picture and say, "You must have a wonderful camera..." I don't want your camera, I want your talent.
Carroll you deserve a one man show. Your striking fotos from your time in China are breath taking. I would not presume to comment on a picture like this.

Sorry, I guess that doesn't help you very much but it is what it is...

19 Apr 18 Comment Norm, this is a great, eye catching image. Print it and hang it on your wall. The golden color (it was yellow in 1898) makes superb contrast with the dark skys. and the tower is well grounded by the surrounding buildings. I'd suggest that you use something like NIK Silver or one of the other monochrome apps to see if you like it in monochrome. I'll go out on a limb and say "maybe" it would work in mono. Why mess with a good picture...? Apr 14th
19 Apr 18 Comment I'm with John on this one. Take some beautiful colours, some intriguing shapes and louse up the architectural composition with a billboard and a confusing forground. Clearly this is a paean to South Korea's space program with the cone representing a large rocket (end tapered because it's so huge) getting ready to climb the ladder to the stars. The coloured wrap on the cone represents speed and power. I'm only hal kidding. The use of multitonne concrete shapes is no simple trick and if the architect does some thing that attracts your eye and stimulates your brain, he has done a big part of the job. The photographer's job is to take all that and put it in two dimensions. Apr 14th
19 Apr 18 Comment Very clever to have the animal stand in front of the meter stick. That is one big boy (or girl). Nice triangular composition - lone triangle for the head and a separate one for the feet. Only suggestion might be to decrease the light by a third to a half a stop and then just a light touch of brightness on the giraffe in the back.

This is a foto that compels the eye to stay and roam corner to corner = Good job.

19 Apr 18 Reply You are correct about that leaf. I "didn't see it!" My wife usually vets my pictures for that sort of thing but I tried it all by myself (and look what happened). I really find it amazing that some of these things are "not seen" and then stand out when the picture is submitted for critiquing. Picture is easy to fix... habit less so. Thanks, Norm. Apr 13th
