Good job, Norm. Too bad you couldn't 'work the site' but then you'd have missed the rest of the day. I see a yellow building and a white one as the picture; with the hill as a secondary object. If you could go a few steps to the right (without falling down the hill), you might have been able to get the prime subjects a little more space in the print. Excellent use of color (I guess this month's assignment was YELLOW); and particularly in the whites! I'm with you on the trees and the right border of the picture. |

This is a nice shot, Ginger, but I suspect that if you had your 'druthers' you would opt for a stormy dynamic sky. I find in looking at the picture that there is some tension between the stark lines of the buildings and the rough featureless sky. Waiting for things to darken up a bit and getting some more lights on in the various buildings would change the picture's organic connections. I would not suggest changing the crop or raising or lowering the shore line. Excellent use of super high (I remember pushing Tri-X) ISO. HDR would be another approach with or without the ISO change. |

Wonderful use of colour; the eye is immediately drawn to the car. The backgound is very busy and, I think, detracts a bit from the presentation of the car. A vignette or some Bokeh might help. |
