Herb, we will miss your well directed analysis of the photos and your own submissions. Please find your way back. And thanks for that aphorism; I'll make frequent use of it. |

Nice foto, Carroll! Wow, what a difference the vignette makes. It really isolates the main subject and presents it for the viewer. And it is so easy to do. Well done! |

Nicely done Norm! I think your camera offers some Digital range optimization right out of the box. I frequently shoot with it at mid range with my Sony. It allows you to automatically develop the shadow detail. Baring that, one of the easy to use HDR programs will give you the excellent results you achieved here. |

I think John's comment id on the mark. We see a gorgeous piece of history and the triumph of architecture while the people in the street barely seem to notice it. Perhaps that is part of Stan's story about the foto. Compare this picture with the other arch. picture in this round. Both great shots and yet so different. |

Excellent foto, Ginger. New Camera, maybe that helped but I've always thought that it's 90% Indian and 10% due to the bow. The picture is sharp and compelling, square, nice color, tightly cropped. It's a really good shot. |

Well, that demands a second look! My first impression was that of a live animal. Then I noticed the eyes and the pelt and my heart slowed down a bit. Texture and presentation plus tack sharp subject make an effective picture. |
