19 Sep 17 Comment I remember this audience from your earlier image - works just as well in this one. What artistic filters are you using to get this effect? Its a great image. People who say photography is not an art need to see images like this. We (or YOU) paint with pixels, and like any artist need to pre- imagine what the end result will be. Beautiful colors, interesting arrangement of figures. Super background of blue and green backing the yellows and soft oranges. The 2 flying and running figures give great movement to the image. Wonderful shot and editing! Sep 28th
19 Sep 17 Comment Amazing shot; wonderful opportunity! The shapes are amazing - undulations, spikes, ridges, globules, etc. Colors are very dramatic and pleasing. Great sharpness on the spikes and yet other areas of the ice look very soft - not in focus, but in texture. This is an image I would really want to play with. It works as is, but I see numerous smaller great images all over! For the image as is, the only thing I noticed is that the soft yellow color along the lower right margin is a little distracting - because all the other colors are cool tones and the yellow is a warm tone. Might try a gentle crop along lower edge t see what you think. Sep 28th
19 Sep 17 Comment Nice street shot - very ...French! Interesting pose - and his glance at you is a good angle of his face - vey natural as though he just noticed you. One of the things I like most about this shot is the blue shade and detail of his sweater vs the deep gold of the inside of his jacket fallen below. The colors are so rich. Its unfortunate the shaft of light on his hat was so intense - it still blown out in spite of your efforts which detracts the eye a bit. Sep 28th
19 Sep 17 Comment Very nice shots - arch in bridge an essential interest element. I think the ducks should be kept - they add interest as well. Without them, shot seems a bit static. Generally we say to not center subjects, but in this instance it works really well to center the bridge arch. Nice light, but needs to be worked to bring some life into it. I also note that in the earlier shot there is considerable fog on the water, while in the later one you really have more of a reflection shot. Each gives a different take on the same location. I used the one with the ducks - I worked with the histogram to spread the dynamic range of light - contrast, highlights, increased clarity and saturation and then spread curves to bring more richness to light. Also straightened image slightly. See VF Sep 28th
19 Sep 17 Comment Chiming in a bit late - if my comments repeat others, sorry ! Blue and yellow - was told our eye is most attracted to these complementary colors and that is certainly the case here. You got this at what I call the 'diamond time' - that point just after sun slips below horizon and give unusual shimmer to lower part of sky. beautiful light on the buildings, good choice of shot point. I'd clone out the very bright light in lower left corner and one to its left - its too close to margin and thus attracts eye as well. Would also clone out edges of building along left margin to clean image a bit. Nice shot! Sep 28th
19 Sep 17 Comment John - don't you know that is what your tripod is for - to help you get back up ??? LOL! Great image at perfect angle. I don't have problem with base; helps understand what the scenario is. The white sky works well - as would a blue one. Each gives different take on the fact this is not a real flying plane. Light on plane is great - lots of highlights to give dimension. Plane fills just the right amount of space in image. Nice shot! Sep 28th

60 Sep 17 Comment Yes - unsteady hand - I just treated myself to a new Nikon D7500 primarily for the higher MP and also the higher useable (think not so grainy) ISO. Nice complementary colors here, and good leading line by the stems coming in from the left. Some points on the fruit are sharp - hard to get them all sharp with the tiny DOF we deal with at macro level. Light seems a little harsh. And I do think the noise distracts a bit. Did you reduce the noise while looking at it magnified to see the noise reduction effect? I'm also thinking that for this kind of shot where its hard to get the fruit away form all the surrounding leaves, to get a more pleasing / controlled composition - a dark or white background could be employed - piece of construction paper, a diffuser, etc. Or even have someone else hold the branch out so that your composition has a simpler leaf arrangement as supporting role to the red fruit. 60 Sep 17 Comment I've been dealing with a direct hit from Irma eye wall and aftermath - so what is this smoke in Anacortes area??? The colors are great - green with bright orange center subject. Like the way you composed the shot to put the wheelbarrow on the diagonal. Makes for a very nice little vignette. Sep 23rd
60 Sep 17 Comment Very, very sharp capture! Great soft background acts as perfect colored backdrop for the wasp and flower bract. Colors - green , orange legs, yellow flower make for a richly saturated image. The sharpness is exquisite - antennae, eyes, knees, even feet are all sharp. We can even enjoy the pollen on his abdomen and the tiny hairs on his body. Excellent shooting.

60 Sep 17 Comment I love this very artistic vision of the subject flower. The light is nice with what appears to be a soft vignette- which adds to the artistic impression for the viewer. Intense colors are rich, and the center yellow is nicely sharp. Petals are leading lines- either to center or away from it; adding interest to inert center. The little smaller twirls top off the interest and drama. Excellent shot and post processing. Sep 23rd
