Well done, I like the sharp foreground and soft background. The other man in shadow is a significant addition without acting as a distraction. The posture and position of the primary man really adds to the culture and he is not looking at the camera which is important. The gate and rough walls create the story of the place. A good color image and it should also do well in Photo Travl. |

A great image. The cone costume is great and the smile and wreath around the face is wonderful. If you knew the person and could give them a copy, they would probably be delghted. I wouold consider cropping the left to take the jacket out but once you see it, it might look too consrained. The symmetry of this image would go well with breaking the rule of thirds. |

I like the "sunburset", it sets the image appart. I also like the perspective shift. I remember that in about 2nd grade we learned how to put perspective into a drawing picking a point the lines coverge to. Now so often I hear about how to remove what is really how we see things. I think you have everything just right and I agree monochrome works well. It emphasises the strong lines and composition you want to show without the distraction of color. |

You seem to come up with a lot of exccllent shots of mundane things over the years I have shared this group with you. This is one of the best. Norm has a good point, there is another great version if you crop from the right to remove the red valve knob. If you try this you might crop some from the bottom to maintain this nice aspect ratio. |

When we were going to Austria, an Austrian told us you must go to Hallstatt. We went and we were not disappointed, this a wonderful village no trip to Ausria should miss it. You choose a "High Impact" view that I would believe to be unusual for a visit. That means I missed this great picture in Hallstatt. We concentratted on the water front where there are many more great shots. |

I did not make any special effort to gt the moody sky. The cellphone seemed to do it all on its own. |

This is a cellphone with a small sensor. The f/1.8 is not extreme on this "camera". I am sorry, I neglected to include the focal length of the lens, it was 6.96 mm That is why the depth of field is so great. It is difficult to limit depth of field with these "cameras" There are apps to simulate it.
You are correct, I should of used perspective correction. I liked the curved lines and did not want to mess with them and that correction would not of had significant impact on them. |
