I am sure this mosque is much older than that and the city was much smaller. My guess is that if he was in Cairo for very long he passed by it. |

I think Norm is suggesting the correct solution. I was thinking I would crop down from the top, the sky is not important, you just need to leave enough above the waterfall so it doesn't look crowded. I am thinking crop down to just above that stick or something sticking up from the left edge of the waterfall. I think the man made fence adds to the interst and the vegetation near the camera on the left provides a needed foreground object. Well done. |

Another good image I would probably never capture. I like the angle you used to turn all these lines into diagonals. Normally the significantt difference in light might be a problem, but herre it just seems to focus attention at the intersection of the main lines. |

Amazing where some people see good imgages where I would never capture them. You tell the story so well without the clutter of more of the person or the dog. Well done. |

I think you succeeded very well. Perhaps this is another rule breaker, is the center of interest the horse or the Christmas decorations, or does it really matter, it all works together. A well conceived and executed still life. |

I like this image just the way it is. What an opportunity with a beautiful colorful landscape and a cloud behind it. I even like that there are interesting things scattered about to make me look here and there. The sheep on the right and the dark wall and road curving around on the left before running on a diagonal across the green field. I like the tops of the hills in the background to sort of complete the story. |

The "looks almost infra red" comment is perhaps from my trying to lighten the tones in my monochromes from what has been my traditional process. Processing was in Lightroom including the conversion which with the major improvements to selections in the Dec 2022 release is becoming my favorite mono conversion processing software. |

Somewhere I read that this pyramd is considered the oldest large scale cut stone structure in the world except possbly other structre in this complex, so they might even be older. |

I seem to be having trouble getting into this image. I am thinking it is just a little too much for me. Just pulling it up and down to essentital crop it I am thinking I personally like it better cropping down over halfway from the top. Now the piece with the hole in it becomes a clear center of interest. Then I think I would crop in from the right just a bit to remove that light area on the edge. It will be interesting to see what others think about it. |

I like the mutted light and soft focus inside the room. It provides some context and interest while holding your attention on the window. Stuart makes the comment about "why exclude the top of the window?" and I was thinking almost the opposite, that I would crop the upper window down to near the crossing piece. Perhaps we were both thinking something similar, but as it is I think the upper window detracts from the story. |

The color version is good, but I really like the feeling of depth in the mono version. To me, those leaves with the frosty edges just jump forward to my attention while the rest of the image retreats. In the convesion, you could probably make those red berries any tone you wanted them to be. They are fine in near black, but I would consider leaving just a little detail in them. They are a unique color in the image and you should be able to adjust the tone easily. |

One of my favorite places in Paris. We like the Montmartre area and love the church. I guess to us, the difference in architecture is a big plus even though Paris as a whole is wondeful as it is, but this is a beautiful exception to the rest of the city. I like your conversion, you know I like dark skies, but you have the church lighter than I seem to make things and I have been thinking of changing my tones to lighter and it worked well for you. Stuart's comment about that little triangle is well taken but you can take it out by cropping closer and it is still a PTD imag. For anythiing else you have the option to clone it out. |

This picture is a perfect example that some images should break the rules about having a "true black" I feel fog is a bonus to be preserved in a shot like this. There are two things that come close to black. One is the bouys in the water which are just fine, but the other is the bird just abpve the main cable. I suspect in reality this bird is significantly closer to the camera and stays black. I think it becomes a distraction from your story and would consider removing it. |

I like Stuart's comment about the stems increasing in the back. To me this keeps me in the picture looking at the steps. Living a life to avoid snow, it is nice to see the snow pictures of others. I would consider cropping the bottom to make the tracks come into the image just above the lower right corner a bit. To me it seems to take me into following the steps faster. Since there is nothing in this to prevent a horizontal flip, you might even consider that to have the steps come in from the lower left. If we believe the theory that we like to enter the image from the left this might work for at least some people. |

I think as I look back, you are correct, that would of been possible. I had been a number of places to take the shot and none was as good as this, so I was just happy to get it. Those buildings are as old as the pyramid. They were part of the complex, so as a travel image they might be considered a positive, but they do take attention away from the pyramid. |
