19 Dec 22 Comment A beautiful sky well captured. It is rare that we have wind at sunrise to raise up the flag, so this is what might be expected, but we know it is an American flag. My only comment is that by placing the bottom of the image above some of the tops of the vegetation we get those straight lines between the brush clumps. I think I would prefer not to see this. Of course I don't know if this would take changing the composition a lot or just a little, but if possible I would prefer it. Dec 18th
19 Dec 22 Comment I think I am happy with the crop the way it is. I like seeing the various tones of the rocks foreground to middle and mountains in the background. The sun on those mountains is going to make me settle there anyway. You captured this at the critical point where the sun was only lightinig those mountains. The rest is in reflected light. Well done. Dec 18th
19 Dec 22 Comment I like the way you have processed the image. The heavy vignette on top and light vignette on the bottom work to add to the halloween feel of the image. If you had cropped in on the grandchild to show detail I think you would loose some of he feeling of the cornfield and witch, but I must agree, I would like to see her face better. Dec 18th
19 Dec 22 Comment The trees give it away that it is infrared and that is fine, I like the light tones of the image. The rocks, trees and sky all look great with the selected tones and they all stand out from each other. The rock is a little tight to the top of the frame, but it is ok as it is. Well done. Dec 18th
19 Dec 22 Comment Bernie is right, this bird has personality. I like the way you framed the image, and yes, the bird is looking to the left and pretty close to that edge, somehow however that eye distracts me from that and I hardly notice it. The eye, messy feathers and personality make the image. Dec 18th
19 Dec 22 Comment I agree, a crop from the bottom to take out the leaves improves the concentration on the main subject, the flower head and bees. Unusual to catch three of them on the head and that adds interest.

Sorry about not getting an image in this month. We were preparing to leave for Egypt which we did on Dec 1st. Still not up to speed after returning on Friday.

64 Dec 22 Comment The textures of stone are wonderful for monochrome and this is a good example. I would prefer to still see the left corner of the building, but it was lost in the perspective correction. Perhaps you could of added camvas on the left selected it and done a content aware fill to have more to work with before correcting perspective, I don't know if it would of worked. I like to shoot loose if I think I need to corret perspective but that doesn't mean I always do it. Dec 18th
64 Dec 22 Comment The geometry of the image adds a lot with the zig zag in the walkway and the structure holding up the viewing platform. Normally I don't like this ominous look in sky conversions, but I have a feeling this is real and appropriate to the story. The viewing deck does not look horizontal and one of the legs is bent,. Perhaps that is exactly as it was, but you could probably straighten that deck if you thought it appropriate. I like the image. Dec 18th
64 Dec 22 Comment I thihk the blocked up areas of black are a little too much. I would prefer the brown tones converting to perhaps a dark grey, but not total black. I like the way you composed the shot. I like seeing the detail on the floors above and the sky is interesting. Perhaps you could bring up the contrasts in the sky a bit more but I would not make it distracting. Nice image. Dec 18th
64 Dec 22 Comment I thihk this crop is excellent just the way it is. I would consider bring up the light on his face. Well done. Dec 18th
64 Dec 22 Comment You have gone to pretty extreme contrast in this image, but Ansel liked to do that also. I think it worked very well with this image. The extreme texture in the grass, heavy clouds and textures of the building all work to make a rather ominous feeling to the image. Where I was from in Minnesota it would be rare, perhaps unheard of to have the school house built of stones instead of wood. The stones are much more interesting for the shot. Dec 18th
64 Dec 22 Comment I like the color version for the fall color which compliments that blue sky and water, but the monochrome seems to really bring out the reflection of the trees. I would be tempted to bring up th contrast of clouds and sky, but you can't go very much unless you can bring it up some in the reflection also. Very nice image in either color or mono.

Sorry about no image this month. We were trying to get things done before leaving for Egypt on Dec. 1st and didn't get it done.
