The mono version probably adds drama as you intended, but I think the resulting image is too much center tone dominated to work well. I know I am a contrasty person with my monochromes, but I think this one could use more. The intersect of the stone on the left with the top of the hills would probably be less of a concern with significantly different colors of the hills and the stone. I would be curious to see the color version. |

Beautiful image of nice clean flowers. Your tent lighting is very soft, perfect for the image. Amazing taking the background from white to black with no apparent artifact, and good choice of a very thin white stroke to show the edge of the image on a black background. Well done. |

Yes, grain is a feature of many B&W films that modern software like Silver Efex actually has filters to create. Clearly this is a positive thing with many monochrome photographers. Excellent sky. The top of that thunderhead is important to the image, or I would crop in some to get the llama larger, but with the thunderhead, I would not. The llama seems a little soft, perhaps a product of the small sensor or the camera it is in. |

You are directing us up the middle to this beautiful fountain in great light with framing trees and a wonderful sky. A very pleasing image. The light under the upper level of the fountain is extraordinary. You have replaced the sky and if you will be exhibiting this image in PSA recognized exhibiions, all content needs to be your own, so it needs to be your own sky, not one of the Photoshop or any other app sky. |
