I think you accomplished what you wanted with the focus stacking very well. Background well out of focus and every part of the flower in focus. I believe the background complements the colors of the flower very well. I suspect you took several shots. I feel like the flower is "looking" to the right and it might be even better if the space was on that side of the flower. Like flipping an image, I am never sure unless I see it both ways. |

I like the sidelight used for the shot. The image is a good portrait . I think I would consider toning down the highlight on her cheek a bit and it seems like there is a halo on the backside of her right arm that is a little extreme. If you agree a little cloning with a small brush set to "darken" and a reduced flow might tone that down a bit. Overall a very nice shot. |

I think this is a nice serene composition, but the tones seem to not fit that feel very well. I think I would play with the tones and see if something works better. I thought mono might work, but you tried that. You might even try something like sepia. Frankly I would like to see the chairs get a bit closer to the trees in the background. Perhaps if you had move to the right a little so they got closer. If that makes the chairs look too close to each other you could reposition them a bit. A good image is always worth playing with both when you are taking the shot and processing it. |

I think this is a beautiful shot. Technically it appears to be very good and the composition with the nice S-curve bringing us into the image. The light frost and fog in the background to soften it. The fog and clouds in the sky. Very nice. A wall hanger! |

Yes, we were in the gardens, but the light was not great and we have some adequate, but not outstanding shots. There were many interesting shots in Singapore, I would recommend this as one of the must photograph cities of the world. We were here on a cruise from 8:00am to 5:00pm, but flew back at the end of the cruise to take some good photographs in the evening. We knew the one day would be inadequate and planned to fly back before we left home. We were very happy we did. |

To crop or not to crop, that is the question. Personally I think I would crop out the two partial eyes at the top. You might even consider the partial eyes at the bottom. The interesting thing to me is we are not asking "what is the center of interest?". I think some pictures, the center of interest is the entire composition and that seems to be the case here. I think the colors pop well without being gaudy and everything is in good focus. A good shot technically. Well done. |

I think the sky and waves in the water are great. I like the composition with the gentle curve of the beach. Yes, I would like the rainbow to stand out more, but it might be hard to make that happen without causing other problems. It is not like you can probably select it and adjust it without it being obvious. There is something near white about 1/2 was around the curve in the trees. I think I would take that out. |

I find the comments to this image informative and interesting. Our reactions to photography are personal and varied. There is no right opinions, they are just our opinions. They are valid for us, but others see things differently. Thanks for your posts. |

I see this as a very formal composition, and I like symmetry for that if it is available. Yes, I think centering the arch, flagpole, and the flagpole reflection is a good idea. I struggle with how to make the flag and flag reflection both more prominent. I first thought get back a bit with a longer lens to enlarge the flag in the background but that would make the reflection less obvious so probably not a good idea. I thought about get closer and tip the camera down a bit because I want the entire slab to still show and try to make the reflection larger, but now I need to do perspective correction and I don't think it would work well anyway. You probably have it about right, but I would consider trying to bring up the visibility of the reflection a bit. That might be lighten the slab a bit and increase the contrast. |

We all have opinions, and that is what study groups are all about. We all react differently to images, especially those with creative effects. I am not a "noise/grain" guy, but I like it in this image. I am not a dark vignette person, but I don't think this image works without it. The stroke is also essential in my mind. I see this as a creative image, and it works well for me. |

One of the things I enjoy about travel to so many places is that the happy faces seem to be the same on what we might considered poor and/or overworked people and when we are in an affluent place. Happiness seems to be an attitude, or put another way, a decision we make. I would enjoy the moment you have captured and not be too concerned about the windows, they are what they are and there wasn't much you could do about them. We had a photo guide with us in Singapore and she made a point that we should try to get the camera near eye level if they are sitting or standing. Good point and you have done that. |

I will comment myself. I had to do this very fast to meet our deadline. The image needs some cleanup. The person to give scale actually confuses the scale with the wide lens. I think it should go. Also the other people in the background, the white spot just above the lower part of the sculpture, and the sign to the left and base of something to the left. I like the image, but I think it can be better. |

Sorry, I think I like the intersection. If you think of it as mother and child, then it should be separated, but I see it as one piece of glass with a very interesting shape. If you understand right off the bat that it is two, perhaps it adds tension. I suspect either presentation works. I like the choice of tones throughout the image. The high contrast is in the tones of the glass and you are riveted to them. Well done. The light base and dark background both contrast very well with the glass and set it off very well. |

A unique image with the ice cutting parts of the reflection but not all of it. You are providing the lines of the trees crossed by the lines of the ice. You have a good tonal range but it might improve with the highlights just on the edge of blowout, or just brighten the image a bit. The picture is in the patterns of the branches and ice so I am not sure it gets better if you see the tops of the trees, you will then also see more plain water without the reflection. I would try it both ways. |

Having sailed a bit in my day, I might react a bit different than some of you. Two boats, apparently of the same class sailing close on the same course say race to me. Actually just about every sailboat is a racing boat, almost all boats have handicaps for racing each other even if they can't do "one design" racing. Frankly I like the shot the way it is presented. I have seen the light reflected on the water many times and enjoy seeing it. I like the scene to be realistic and am not a fan of an obvious vignette. An extreme treatment of the sky would detract for me, but a bit "dehaze" or something similar to put a little more interest in it might work for me. |
