Nice work. It looks like you have a new skill to add to your photography. I would say this is an excellent result from a new area of photography. |

Crop or not crop, both sides of the image are very good. |

I think it is improved. I think you could crop a little looser on the top, bottom and left. You don't have much choice on the right. Play with it and see what you think. |

I have used it in BW, it works well. This is in Sheik Zayed Mosque in Abu Dhabi. This is a must shoot place if you are going to Dubai. Ideally you would spend a night in Abu Dhabi and shoot both late in the day and early the next day. You can't always shoot there however. You need to know the schedule. |

Nice job, especially for a first experiment. The metadata report might not have the f-stop for the stack, but the individual shots should have it. I like the result. Very nice. I can't believe I am suggesting trying so much cropping, that is not like me, but I think I would like cropping the bottom to the edge of the reflective surface so the reflection is all the way to the bottom of the image. |

You managed to throw everything in the background out of focus with f/2.8 to focus us where you wanted us. He is a great subject for the image. There might be too much distracting at the bottom of the image and I would consider cropping in from the right into about the middle of the blue object. You might consider darkening the light writing on the wall in the background a bit. Overall a great image. |

Colors are great, exposure looks good and the berries seem tack sharp. I think I personally like the picture on the left, it has limited depth of field so the leave behind the berries are not distracting. I would consider cropping in from the left far enough to eliminate the dark brown patch in the center bottom and maybe to the line where you can crop between the berries. Then maybe crop the top a bit. You might want to try that and see if it works for you. |

Great color and background to compliment the flowers. I think I agree with Norm. Crop to make the flower on the right the clear subject of the image. |

I like it, but I think I would consider cropping the top. Perhaps going all the way to put it near 1/3 from the bottom. Then it becomes a horizontal image, but it works for me. |

My concern was the woman walking toward me. I wanted her in the image but not dominating it. I needed to shoot when I liked where she was. If I waited for the other person to get out of the shot, I might not get it at all. I suppose I could zap her out of it if it is not going into photo travel. This mosque is so great for photography and we only had about three hours. Everyone should try to get here once in their life. If I was going to do it again I would stay in Abu Dhabi one night so I could do evening and morning. We were staying in Dubai and had a driver waiting for us. |

Good point. There were not people around the temple but with the right clothing it would certainly add. |

Virtually all the shots are from the other side. Photographers were practically crawling over each other to get to the railing to take the shot. We took shots there but were disappointed because the really good shot from there is with no ripples on the water. We decided we wanted something else. On the back side, no competition to take whatever we wanted. |

You bring back memories. In 1967 and 1968 I lived in an apartment in King of Prussia right next to the turnpike and drove through Valley Forge Park and across the Betzwood bridge ever day to work in an industrial park in Norristown I believe. Our favorite bar was the Peacock which I can't find on the map, but certainly hope it is still there.
Your image is a good one. Without being there, I have a feeling a shot from a little to the right might be better. More into the faces of the troops and let the officer get shot in the back. As it is, I think I would crop into the left to not let it look like you almost got the entire building. I would either get tighter on the right or just clone out someone's handbag. You have a good sky for the conditions and good contrast between all important picture elements. The eye is immediately taken to the high contrast part of the image, the soldiers in a line. Frankly, I think the suggested crop into the building would help this. |

A very good image with a story that is obvious to all. These men are enjoying the work of their grandfathers. You did an excellent job of cloning into the steam so it is still white, zone 10, but with detail. Well done. I like that the face that we see in full and the steam are the light contrasting parts of the image. The connection of the two are the center of interest for me. |

I thought about commenting that the image would improve if the clothes did not intersect the lines of the shore behind, but the camera is about at their eye level as it probably should be, so this is probably as it should be. Then I read Jerry's comment and the cloths striking the boards would prevent the intersect with the shore. This is the kind of shot you want to blaze away at 8 frames per second or so and select what works best. I like the image, but there might be others that are better.
Comment on NIK Silver Efex 2. DxO has released their "supported" version, but I have it and see no reason to go to it if you have the previous NIK or Google versions. Tim Grey is saying that you should not download the trial version if you have a previous version, because the previous version will no longer work and you will need to pay the $50 or whatever and have basically the same thing. I needed to upgrade because I did not want to give a presentation with unsupported software. |

My first reaction was that there was an unusual amount of light tones compared to most landscapes. Frankly, I have been planning to lighten up my work some, but seem to always end up not doing it. Perhaps what Jerry is reacting to is the lighter than typical treatment. I think I can see zone 0, (True Black) and 10, (White) in this image. I suspect it might be stronger with more "true black" and perhaps near black, but I like the image. I usually don't make my clouds quite so dominant in the image, but a lot of photographers do this, so I suspect a lot of people would react positively to them. |

Very nice. I think the 30 sec is just on the edge of keeping the stars round and not seeing the motion. Zooming in you can just start to see it. You just might want to experiment with bringing the teepee back to color. It won't be a monochrome anymore, but it might be something you will like. With the original color layer under the monochrome, you can mask through. |

Jerry mentioned the algae/scum. Anything can look good in monochrome. The swirls do a great job of filling what could of been boring space. The image seems to have good tonal separation of all picture elements, but I think I might consider two tonal modifications. I think I would darken the light leaves on the right edge a bit and lighten the light willow on the left. This might give it a more clear center of interest. If you crop the trees above the willow, I would be careful not to end up with the shoreline too close to center. I like that the willow is 1/3 in from the left and about 1/3 down from the top, but a slight crop would not change this much. |

This shot will grab the interest of anyone that looks at it. The fish is enormous and the stab wound helps tell the story well. The colors, contrasts and sharp details are great. Nice job! |

I think your tones are excellent. There seems to be good contrast throughout the image. Everything looks very nice and sharp. It is interesting to just wander around and study the content of this image. |
