I agree, I like the "ducks under" image. The ducks are interesting, but it also seems to have better color. If you start shooting in RAW, you set the white balance on your computer. I keep my camera on Auto WB, but that only has impact on the image seen on the back of the camera, not the saved file. Then you can set the WB to about anything you want when you process the image. You can also make much more major adjustments to color and tones with little or no damage to the image. You need to insure you have software that works well to process your RAW file, but that seems to be easy to have now. Your file size will go up by a factor of maybe 5X so purchase larger disk drives if you are interested in making the change. |

Yes, that bright light was over powering. It is pretty hard to do much about it for Photo Travel, but it could go away for PID or PPD. I just would like to be here after the construction is complete. This is a city we all should go to, but perhaps waiting a year or two would be good. |

With those settings you must of had more light than you usually have for these shots. In any case, the result is excellent. The light is set pretty high in fact there might be some blow out, but it has no negative impact as far as I'm concerned. This is your expression of the image and it is well done. The audience added further enhances the image significantly. This treatment of an audience is very pleasing. |

Carroll, you did an excellent job of handling a very difficult shot. A true piece of art. I bet you could sell a lot of these. I like everything about it, but it is interesting that you have different colors from upper left to lower right. Makes it so it might go with a lot of decorating. The story makes it even more interesting and you should try to exhibit it with the story when possible. |

Talk about an age thing, I am afraid to get low to take my pictures and I love to do it to exaggerate the textures in floors and pavement. My left hip went bad in June and they couldn't do much because of this trip coming up. In any case,
This is a very good example of it is ok to let a sky go white. Sometimes it is even a benefit like in this image. Hood ornaments can be great pictures and this one is very unique. That makes is stand out above the rest. The tail is a little soft, but the engine end is tack sharp and that is the important end. Good job! |

This is a great example of the value of these study groups to our photography. you have made excellent comments on this image. I should be able to clone out the windows in the upper right on a version for PID, PPD, and I have a version taken 10 seconds sooner that has the full arch. Unfortunately it has even a bit more of the first column head missing, but it is probably a better choice. Thanks to all of you. I think I was concentrating on how sharp these low light images were in the original selection, but the other image is about as sharp. |

I need to see if I have one with the full arch. Now that you mention it, I wish that was full. |

I used a wide open aperture due to low light and no tripod. Actually it is always a question of should a repetition shot be sharp all the way through or should interest be focused on the start of the repetition with shallow depth of field. In this case the choice was shallow depth of field partly to keep an acceptable shutter speed without going past ISO 1600. |

I think this is a very nice monochrome image. I like the shutter speed, shows good motion but not too milky. I also like the branch hanging over the water. A good capture technically with good composition. Well done! |
