I like the tower and bridge holding me in the image and I also like that they are blurred by the fog. I also reacted to the shades of color being so different from the subject, but John's comment about them being in different light could certainly explain that. I think I would like the image better if the left side of the subject was in the frame, but when we say things like this, we never know why the maker chose to not include something over there, it might of been a serious distraction, and the entire building is not essential to the image. |

The quality of the image is excellent. I like that the flying crane is very sharp, and the other crane in the center of the image is just as sharp or perhaps almost as sharp. The rest of the birds provide the feeling of Bosque and I like them in the image. It does bother me a bit that there are partial birds on both sides of the image. I think this will drop the score some at least with some judges. |

The eye and head and most of the bird are very sharp and the exposure seems right on. I think body and wing on the top 1/3 line and the other wing on the left 1/3 line is very effective. The soft wing tips could be from limited depth of field at f/9, but I think it is because of motion blur with the wing tips moving pretty fast. Then the question is did you want to show wing motion, if so you were successful. I think some photographers would want to eliminate the blur but some would be pleased by it. I always wonder about flipping images like this, but I suspect that the wing on the left providing a leading line to that eye works best. You could try flipping, but I think you will like this the best the way it is. |

I think this is a very nice image. The effect of the technique applied worked very well.
By the way, I think the stroke helps this image a lot despite the comment I made on my own image. It clearly frames the image very nicely. |

I once put strokes around any image with a black background to separate it from the black screen that is often around the image when it is projected. I now think that this is often just a white line distraction around the image and seldom use the stroke. I suspect a lot of people would disagree with me and I am not sure myself that this is correct to not use the stroke.
I believe the white sports are something in the dress that reflected, but I am only guessing.
