Thanks Paul. Patterns and abstracts and minimalism are the themes I'm happiest with. |

Thanks Pat. I try not to be ruled by the 'rules' but sometimes it just happens :) |

A nice study of this young couple. Obviously lost in whatever it is that they are doing. I could not work out what the black 'box' was. At first, I thought it may be a large format camera which would fit with all the snaps below it but I'm not sure. The sepia provides a soft colour palette to the image. |

Tall ship parades and flotillas are always fun and colourful events. You did well to capture it coming into the pier. A couple of things I would change though are the darkness of the water which is a little too black and the horizon, as it seems the ship is sailing downhill. The sepia effect works and gives it an old time feel. |

Gorgeous profile shot Pat. Good use of DoF to throw the background out and it's nice and sharp too. The use of sepia is almost unnoticed due to the colouring of the bird and its background, which looks almost natural. |

You've got to love bison. A very powerful beast which you can see in its expression here. It's a good tight crop, focusing your attention on the face. The sepia feel makes you think you are looking at an image from the days of the wild west. |

Hi Paul and welcome. We're a friendly bunch, so I hope that you'll enjoy the Group.
I like the image which has a certain abstract quality. The sepia finish helps to keep the palette clean and free of unnecessary colour. I did wonder what the part of the car was on the right of the frame.
I was wondering whether a tighter crop may help focus on the ornament and lose part of the, for me, distraction on the right. |
