Ella, this is a wonderful still life image.
Everything about the image is, to me, just perfect.
However, Peter is correct about that highlight but I am sure you can sort that out..... |

Ed, an excellent image. Very well seen. Superbly captured and processed.
This is not one that I would walk past but is just the sort of thing I like to attempt.
Sometimes successfully sometimes not, rarely as well as this.
Interestingly Ansel Adams is not the photographer that comes to my mind, instead it brings to mind Freeman Patterson.
Perhaps I should carry a palm frond in my bag and drop it in suitable locations! |

Michael, that is one amazing sky!
As Ella has suggested, more foreground may have helped.
I find the foreground interesting and it makes me want to see more.
The image is great as it stands and could be even better with Peter's suggestions implimented. |

Ian well done for braving the elements!
I live close to the North Sea so I know just how challenging things can be.
Your image tells us about the location and the weather and the loonies who go to such places!
Usually when, at the coast, I have given up and decided to head home, there is always at least one mad person out there fishing! |

Peter, a dramatic landscape well seen and captured.
The merging of the two images was inspired.
The result is wonderful. |

Peter thanks and well spotted!
I had not noticed that little error.
It may well be possible to do something about that.
However I have many of these images.
I am lucky that an old tarmac road near home has many holes in it and, when they fill up with water and freeze these patterns magically appear.
Each winter it changes as the holes tend to become larger.
I reckon that the most interesting effects come about when the ice partly melts and then refreezes.

Michael, thanks.
And of course the interplay between light and dark areas is what monochrome is all about! |

Well the image was made looking straight down so perhaps it could be aerial! |

Ella, thank you for your comments.
I agree that a bit more contrast would help.
Something to play around with...... |
