31 Dec 18 Comment I really like Ed's version. Dec 19th
31 Dec 18 Reply Thank yo Peter.
The remaining component for MPSA is a 6th Star for Colour.
Currently I have 34 titles qualified.

31 Dec 18 Reply Usually when photographing moving water I try to set the shutter speed to get the effect I want. Usually around 1/2 second.
The camera will be set to aperture priority and I alter the aperture until the shutter speed is near where I want it to be. These days I may also set ISO to auto.
I leave the camera on aperture priority as I have got into a mess in the past by changing over to shutter priority and failing to change it back. The camera I use for wildlife is set to shutter priority!

I have also just received my 5th Star for Nature!

31 Dec 18 Comment Thanks for the nice comments.

Incidentally, I have just received my 4th Star for monochrome and the help from all of you is much appreciated!

31 Dec 18 Comment I find still life to be very difficult indeed.
I am unable to create such an arrangement and, even if I did, my efforts to photograph the same would be pathetic.
I have to hand it to those, like yourself, who can produce a super image like this one.

The only very slight criticism is that the slightly unclear apple is, as has been said already, a bit of a distraction.

Super stuff!

31 Dec 18 Comment This is an absolutely superb action picture!
Everything about it is just perfect!

31 Dec 18 Comment It may be just me but there would seem to be a hidden message here.
The dominance of one flag over the other and the disarray of the objects may be saying something about the result of the Civil War.

An interesting and intriguing image, well seen and well presented.

31 Dec 18 Comment Iphone?
Is that a phone with a built-in camera or is it a camera with a built-in phone?
I tend to think camera with built-in phone is more likely!
Personally I do not use my phone as I try to have a camera with me most of the time.
I also find a camera easier to hold steady.

This is a pretty good portrait with the background suitably out of focus.
All the usual "requirements for a portrait" seem to be met.
I like the somewhat quizzical expression.

31 Dec 18 Comment A change to see Iceland without the snow!
You have captured the nature of the location very well and, as always, your processing has been very effective.
The image is well composed.

Your replies to Judy are extremely enlightening and I shall certainly study them in depth. Many thanks for that.

31 Dec 18 Comment The minimalist effect is excellent.
I do feel that the floating structure is a distraction.
Perhaps a square version of this would be worth a try?

31 Dec 18 Reply How in Earth did I miss that?
You are so correct and the image is greatly improved.
