As we expect, something different!
An intriguing mix of elements.
The geometric pattern of the table contrasted with the rounded shapes of the glass.
The person whose face is not shown; just who could that mysterious person be?
The happy couple walking past. Who are they and where are they going?
The empty tables by the river.
A glimpse of interesting buildings across the river.
And, of course, just what is in that glass?
A wonderful mix of intriguing ambiguity.
And it works very well in black and white, which adds to the mystery. |

I am not totally convinced by the left to right business.
However that simple change has made this image much more dramatic.
Perhaps there is something in this after all............. |

Strangely, before I logged on today, I was reading Cartier-Bresson's "A Propos de Paris"! This could quite easily be in Paris or a similar european city. Even the weather is appropriate. I love the subject and your processing has really emphasised the nature of the location. |

Your image say so much about the boy and his situation.
His expression of puzzlement also tells me of hope.
He looks interested and interest leads to learning and learning to future success.
An encouraging image to start the new year. |

Another masterful landscape, as we now expect from your good self.
A well balanced composition and lots of interest.
I do like the way the implied lines of the trees form different angles. |

A great start!
I love the relationship between the woman and the guy in the picture who seems to be Clint Eastwood. The differing angles of the cues makes the image for me.
Black and white is perfect for this image; billiard and pool halls should be monochrome as it suits their nature so well. I like the way the backdrop is subdued but still gives us sufficient information about the location. |

I think we all have had days like that!
What matters is that you survived and got some pictures.
I suspect that there was none around to witness your performance.
The image really brings home the nature of the place, the masts of the hidden boats poking up above the main subject emphasising the sheer number of such sad wrecks. I also like the composition with all the angles and the detail in the wood of the main boat is excellent.
You must return to this location but take more care! If you were to watch me out in the field these days you would see someone being painfully careful. |
