I can well see why that notice caught your attention. Fascinating. However the shadows indicate the light came from above and therefore the black smudges along the division between the two sets of buildings disturbs me. They cannot be shadows so why are they there? Cut them out leaving the sign just as you have it and then, for me, it would be a stunning image. And yes, very creative too. |

This is a super image and the background perfect. To be contrary, I like the bit of branch referred to but might have placed it and bird fractionally higher so that it did not touch the frame. |

Great to see you joining our group. And what a startling first picture to shock us with! Takes a bit of getting used to but the more I look at it, the more I like it, but for the fact it lacks that depth. You describe going to some length to put in the back of the jar but I see no evidence of it. If I had I would feel a lot happier. Perhaps fewer jelly beans might have helped? Great idea, well done. |

Birds usually fly in the sky and so the grassy effect top left confuses me. I like the effect of seeing the birds through the close stalks of grass very much and the general image and colours are very pleasing. The brush strokes give an interesting touch but for that top left corner. |

Yes, those Topaz filters do tempt one to play around and this painting is very attractive though a little confusing at first. I know one is usually told to remove light bits like the sky when they are not necessary but in this case I feel the sky, as I saw it in the original, gave balance and perspective. I wonder what effect the filter would have had on the sky though? The elk are a good addition and nicely placed - I like it. |

An interesting idea with the flowers and a lovely girl too. Agree a flower in her hair ties them well together but from her position she would look more natural leaning against something I feel. Hope it was a little girl to go with the flowers! |
