Thanks! I'm usually a BW guy, but I liked the color version, so I didn't try it. Cropping to more of a pano is a interesting idea. I can see how that could increase the impact of the "eye" feature.

I didn't think about darkening the grasses on the left, so thanks for pointing that out. Also, I could have added a vignette to the whole image to add focus to the center feature.

I actually hadn't noticed the "eye" feature, so thanks for sharing that. I was unconsciously fortunate to have the sun in just the right spot to do that. Thanks.

I like the idea and your experiment. It's a nice scene to work with due to the colors and that strong vertical tree that orients the image. I have to agree with the others that including the dog and the leash would have been an improvement, but I can imagine that it would have been difficult using apps. Using Photoshop or Lightroom mobile might would have worked better, I can't be sure, but that may not have been your desire.

Green River. I remember that, too. I think there was a dispenser bottle filled with the green liquid that we drew into the paper cone that was in a stainless holder, and may have added carbonated water to it. Maybe not. Maybe it was dispensed already carbonated. I don't have a clear memory of it, and I don't remember the flavor either. Faded memories.

Brings back memories of when I worked behind the soda fountain counter in the local drug store. That was many, many years ago as you may imagine. Nice shot of a nostalgic scene even though the prices are more modern. Thanks for the memories.

I like BW, so that works for me. I like the strong leading lines, too. Nice capture. The distraction for me is that the trees seem to be leaning to the left while the bridge trail is level. Did I misunderstand what's in the image?

Very nice version of this scene. The suggestion of watercolor is quite good, especially in the sky and the turf. I hadn't heard of Remini or Gahaku, so I need to look into them. I'll admit I'm stuck in the Snapseed only mode and don't often use other apps like I once did.

I'm a fan of BW, so from that perspective, the image appeals to me. I like that its abstract, too. Nice shot. Welcome to Group 51.
Just a thought: There's a photog who did a series of remarkable BW photos of ceiling fixtures you might enjoy seeing. Cole Thompson Photography. You'll have to drill down from "portfolios" to "series" to "ceiling lamps." The link below should make it quicker for you if our PSA page will allow posting it.

Nice action capture with a fun story to go with it. It is sharp as Richard mentioned. Foamy waves maybe with a little motion blur, too. Nice colors. Nice shot.
There is one thing I don't quite understand about the two white streaks going down from the gull's body to the water. At first glance, I thought they were the gull's legs. Then I noticed there is a discontinuity in the left leg. Now I'm not sure what those white streaks are. Can you help me understand? |
