Thank you, Pam. I agree that the blue color is quite important to the scene. I do like to use a square crop, and in this case, I was trying for that 1/3-1/3-1/3 composition. |

Thank you, Lynne. I'm pleased you see the image that way. I do struggle to make images that are more than a literal documentation of a subject. I quite often fail to do it. Once in a while, though, I find an opportunity.

Thanks, Sol. You make a valid point, and one I hadn't considered. Those downward lines do reflect the upward plant shapes. Thanks for pointing it out.

Thanks, Dick, for your kind words. I think my edits made the image slightly abstract since there isn't a lot of detail in the bottom third. That made the shot more than just a record. I'm always trying to improve my game.

Thanks, Dave. I just happened to see this spot while I was out walking, and I thought it made an interesting composition.

Congratulations on your milestone. Regarding the photo: Good editing idea. The new background adds interest to the photo. I think it might be good to darken the area around the shoes to indicate shadows, so the subjects are grounded.

I think your edits were good. Removing the sky removed a potential bright distraction. Flipping the image allows the pathway to lead the viewer's eyes into and through the image. Nice colors for this time of year, too. Nice capture.

I like horses. I know very little about them, but I like them. I haven't ridden one since I was a teen. As for the photo, I prefer the color version, and I might suggest brightening the head a bit to emphasize the "face." I hope you were able to give the horse some scratches and pats.

Fun capture. The little critter posed for you. I like the added interest and color of the pots. The background is pretty busy, so I might suggest cropping-in to place more emphasis on the chipmunk.

Lots of muddy moving water indicating the power of the flow. I like both versions. I think the blurry water version might be improved with some additional shutter control. I've used the app Slow Shutter to capture moving water. I think it probably uses the same principle, but one can change the length of the capture to get the desired results.

Nice scene. I like the precarious stacking of the rocks. It looks like a cairn made by a giant. There are objects in foreground, middle, and distance making for a nice landscape image. I have to agree that the orange rocks in the right foreground could be darkened a bit. Nice shot.
