Thank you for your comments on this month's image and my images on Instagram. Sharing images - like in this forum - is something I like to do. For example, I recently sent two images to PSA's Still Life competition, but they were not given enough points to be posted. So, I learn from the experience.
I looked at your suggestion about this month's image. I have to disagree that cropping would improve it. From my point of view, all the clouds add interest to the setting. The longer length of the clouds adds to the vanishing point effect. The clouds at the top of the image explain why the water near the bottom of the image is darker. I believe the image is about more than the leading line of the canal, so I'd keep the top area.

Lots for the imagination here. Could be a red clam stuck in amber-colored beach sand. Could be something caught up in the sea foam. I didn't think "cookie," so that's pretty good. Amazing to get such a sharp close-up. Neat experiment.

Thank you for your support. I have had thoughts about doing a series of monthly images of that location and printing them in an accordion-fold booklet. Part of my interest is that I'm sure the area next to the canal will eventually be developed into housing, and the canal will be routed underground. Some people will smile and call it progress.

No worries. I think I read it as you intended, so I didn't notice.

Thank you, Lynne. As I mentioned to Richard, I have photographed this motif several times. I'm not entirely sure what draws me back. The images have been accepted by others, and that's good, but I do feel the need to move on and find new things to photograph. I'm on Instagram if you'd like to see some of my DSLR shots. @rob_barley_1

Thank you for your comments. I have photographed this motif several times with several cameras and at several times of the year. In September 2021, a version captured with a Holga camera on medium format BW film was published by Analog Forever Magazine. I'm not entirely sure why I keep going back, but there must be something there that I like. I noticed that the link to the PhotoPlace Gallery exhibition didn't get copied to the description, but I'm sure you can navigate to it if you are interested. It's in the "Water" exhibition.

Lovely place to be, I'm sure. Nice capture of morning light. The clouds add a lot to the scene. Your dilemma about devices is understandable. I'm still using an iPhone 7+ which is essentially obsolete. However, when I look at the cost of a newer model, I question if it is worth upgrading.

I like dogs, so I enjoyed your images. I'm sure the pack created a lot of commotion at times, though. I think I like the Golden laying on the hearth the best. It's what I'd like most days. A warm quiet place to rest. The gray muzzle seems right, too. But I digress - it's a nice warm, homey, set of images for the holidays.

I read the Wikipedia article on Shmoos to learn about their interesting history. The colorful background in the photo contrasts well with the neutral-colored veg. Fun experiment.

Dave, this is a nice shot. I like the sun flare on the right edge since it suggests the low sun position. The composition is good, too, with the saguaro standing proud in the morning light. The colors are warm which is good for this time of year.
