Thank you. I have an ancient iPhone 7+, so it doesn't have a closeup lens feature. For the WW, I had the same concern you mentioned, so I took 2 or 3 shots at different heights to make sure it was in focus. I probably cropped about 50% of the original image away. For the GBH, I used the camera's 2x digital zoom, and then cropped about 50% away.

Thank you, Jerry. I thought putting the two together was a way to elevate both images a bit. Also, thanks for facilitating the update to my bio.

Thank you for your comments. I thought showing them together was a way to add value to both photos. I have to say I'm not looking forward to winter weather either. While I understand it is inevitable, I also know spring will follow.

Thank you for your comments. I thought it was interesting to compare the caterpillar with the moth. That whole process has always amazed me. The moth photo is not my image - which I'm sure everyone knows, but I didn't make it completely clear and I'm not taking credit for it.

Fair enough. It's all about personal choice.

I agree with the previous comments. The repetitive shapes and colors are interesting - and that could stand by itself as an image - but the image gets much better with the inclusion of the window washer platform. Good capture.

Nice vanishing point and pretty colors. Lots for the viewer to see. The water's great, too. Nice reflections. The sky is nice. Overall, a very good, well composed image. If I had a quibble, it would be that the HDR effect may be a little too strong. I think it has a slightly artificial quality.

Really nice. The viewer's eyes are drawn to the image due to the various shapes and colors, but land on the red portrait. The grasses on each side curve into the frame and hold the viewer in the scene. There's good sharp detail throughout the image. I might have liked seeing more of the lower part of the red portrait, but then that might lose the framing of the grasses. Nicely seen and captured.

I like the crop. It fits the subject well. The photo tells a fun story. All the image needs is a pooch doing what pooches usually do to a hydrant... Nice capture.

Good seasonal colors and subjects! Fun. The orange could be bubbling lava flows. The texture of the gourds matches the creature's hide, too. It's a creative capture. Made me smile.

That's a pretty sky shot. The silhouetted cacti reaching into the sky add scale and context to the scene. Nicely done. Nice colors and composition.

Thank you for your comments. I thought it was a chance to show two critters from the same morning walk. I also thought a single photo of the Wooly Worm wasn't all that interesting and attaching it to the sighting of the GBH gave it more significance.
I forgot to ask the Wooly Worm about the coming winter. It was an oversight on my part.
I looked up the "adult" moth for this caterpillar, and I attached a photo here. It's a "Pyrrharctia isabella or Isabella Tiger Moth" according to Google.

Thank you for your comments. I agree. Getting that close to a GBH is usually difficult. Ordinarily they spread those large wings and fly away. This bird seems to stay close to the irrigation gate and not worry too much about humans. It almost looked bored. I'll have to go back occasionally and see if it remains there.
