Thank you for your comments. Your idea would be another thing to try. I suppose it would be possible to make it into a comet with a long tail, too. Fun with photography!

Thank you for your comments. I have to agree that the more appropriate title is "asteroid." The rock really isn't round enough to be the moon. I didn't consider that before I labeled the image, so I just defaulted to "moon."
Next month, I'll have a more realistic image for the group, but it was fun to try something different for this month.

One of my retirement goals was to spend more time with toys - like cameras and Photoshop. That may not be everyone's goal, but it works for me.
I was thinking about photographing the Milky Way, and I came up with the attached image. It's fake, of course, but it's another bit of fun. It was shot with a DSLR, so I wouldn't post it to this forum otherwise.

Thanks, Dave, for your comments. It was a fun thing to try, and I think I might have done a better job of it with more experience. Just having fun with my cameras.

There's a woman who posts videos to TikTok/Instagram talking about releasing "domesticated" rocks back into the wild. Her children keep bringing rocks home and before the rocks get too tame, she releases them back into their natural habitat. Pretty funny. It also reminds me to put my rock back...

Another great landscape shot. Love the clouds. Beautiful sky colors. I hope your Milky Way shots came out well. I haven't tried to photograph it, but I have seen it. Getting away from light pollution is the secret, of course. This makes me wonder if you get to see the Northern Lights where you are. It would seem like you might since you are so far north. Just curious. I have never seen them in person, and I'd like to.

Good editing job to bring the frog into better view. I like the repetitive shapes and the colors, too. That is a big frog, and I can imagine how loud it must have been. It reminds me of the Peter, Paul, and Mary song about the "big blue frog" - although this one is green, of course. Nice capture. Jerry mentioned eating frog legs - which I did when I was stationed in the Gulf Coast region many years ago, but not since then.

Great find. Good that you were able to stop and capture the moment. Your composition adds to the scene because we can think of the deer lifting its head in reaction to some sound or movement outside the right side of the frame. Prey animals are always wary. Nice colors, too. Good to have you back with the group.

Interesting idea. I proposed something quite similar to a local club's portrait group and didn't get any takers. I think being photographed scared them. My thoughts for your club's challenge would have been photographing my shadow, photographing only my torso and legs, or maybe just my bare feet. I'm sure others in your group had the same ideas as I did.
Would you please tell me how your club worded the challenge? Maybe I'll try it again here. I think it would be interesting.
Thanks.

Nice side shot showing the size and colors of this beautiful big cat. There are times when we'd like to be Dr Dolittle so we could make friends, but then there's the reality of Siegfried and Roy's situation. So, I'll keep my distance. Nice cat shot.

Big heavy-duty vehicles. Unfortunately, they are no longer used or maintained. It's a metaphor for life, I suppose. I haven't been to Jerome for nearly a dozen years, but I do have good memories of the town. There was a motorcycle club (just regular people who like to ride on weekends) taking a rest stop there, too. The lens distortion almost gives the trucks life. Nice shot.

That's great! It made me smile.
If I could figure out how to do the rings, I'd try to make a Saturn. It is just fun to try these things.
Thank you for your comments and the photo, too! |
