Thank you for your comments. I think it might be fun to collect images of found items. Unfortunately, I usually just find trash that someone has discarded and wouldn't be interesting. I remember that years ago I found a single shoe along a trail. I photographed that, too. I'll have to look back through my files and see if I can find it.

Thank you for your comments. Usually when things are found like this, it is something that's been discarded by an uncaring person. As you mentioned, this is a child's toy and had value.

Thank you, Dave. I thought it was a fun snapshot. From a distance, I was drawn to the bright colors against the fading turf. When I saw that it was a "camera" it made me smile to photograph it. As I mentioned to Sol, had I thought it through, I'd have included more of the surroundings so the feeling of loss and isolation would have been stronger. Maybe next time...

Thank you for your comments. Over the years I have had thoughts of collecting images of a group of similar things or colors and making a photo book with them. The problem is that I don't actually do it. My imagination doesn't always translate into action, unfortunately.

Thank you for your comments. I think it might have been better if I had been back a bit so there would be more of the feeling of isolation and loss. At the moment I snapped it, though, I wasn't thinking about that. Still learning, I guess, or maybe just forgetful...

I suppose one could say this is "street photography." You were capturing a dynamic and unplanned scene as the worker passed by. I think street photography can be a real challenge since the photographer has no say in what happens. Regarding this image, it's difficult for me to understand what the subject is. Maybe taking a few steps backward would have included more of the story and made the image more meaningful to me. That's just my opinion, of course. It's interesting work.

"Judges? We don't need no stinkin' judges." (after "The Treasure of the Sierra Madre," 1948, w/Bogart)
I hope they came back for it, too. It snowed 3" the next day.
Thank you for your comments.

Those are spectacular colors. The app did a great job of creating a reflection of the blossoms. As Richard mentioned, the left edge may be cropped a little too close. Good stuff.
Hope all is well.

Lynne, this is a great image. There are so many factors that I think are good. Your choices in post were spot-on. BW was the right choice because the colors are a distraction, plus the BW (via Dramatic BW) enhances the textures and shapes. The concept of "gesture" is difficult for me to accomplish, but this image has it nailed. Each dancer has his or her own reaction. Their expressions and body postures speak to the viewer - well, at least to me. The light streaks on the wall add interest, too. For a "found" moment, you captured an amazing photo. Frame it.

Another beautiful landscape scene from you. As you mention, there was little to do in post. I can't offer any substantial suggestion. Maybe burn the foreground a little? Nice shot.

Great fall color shot. Lots of color and texture everywhere. It makes one want to be there to enjoy it. I can almost hear the leaves crunching as I walk. Including the people in the distance adds a nice touch of scale and context. It might be interesting to shoot this same scene in all four seasons and mount them side-by-side.

Very nice shot, and a challenging way of getting it, too. I think the composition is great, especially when you didn't have time to set it up. The image speaks to the isolation and desolation of the area. The desaturated colors add to that. If I were pressed to suggest something, I'd say darkening the bright foreground would help to move the viewer's eyes into the photo.
