Thank you for your comments. I nearly didn't see these fungi. They were off the path and close to a pond. I wandered down there to watch some fish - carp, I think - that were noodling in the shallows and then discovered the fungi. When I went back a few weeks later, all evidence of the fungi were gone. Don't know what happened to them. I'll (try to remember to) go back next spring and see if they re-grow.

Thank you for your comments. I tried to shoot the group at the bottom and the one at the "V" as separate images. They were fine, but I thought they lacked the context of the setting. As I have said above, I should have considered a diptych, or even a triptych, to include the context shot and close ups. It's a learning experience.

Thank you for your comments. I've watched YouTube videos of people searching the PNW woods for fungi, and they do find quite a variety. These examples were 25 feet from a pond, so I suppose that moisture was important for the growth. As I mentioned to Jerry, I probably should have done a diptych and included one close up. Maybe next year.

Thank you for your kind words. After this image was posted, I thought I over-saturated it a bit. I think I was trying to compensate for the smallish fungi presentation. As I mentioned to Jerry, next time I'll use a diptych so the details of the fungi are clearer.

Thank you for the tip on determining what the fungus is. I don't know anything about fungi other than occasionally finding one in the woods. It's so dry here, that they are not especially common, so finding one is remarkable.

I understand what you mean. I have a couple of closer shots, but I thought they lacked context. So I chose to include more of the surroundings. However, that meant the the subject was smaller and not as detailed. It was a toss-up, but I liked this presentation more. I should have done a diptych and included both! Maybe next time. Thanks for your comments as always.

Jerry, another creative use of the camera and apps. I don't stretch the way you like to do. The creative background represents where you live. All I can add is well done!

This one is difficult for me. In my humble opinion the painteresque app as flattened the image, so there's little depth to the scene. All the bright detail in the rocks around the perimeter takes the viewer's eyes away from the central point. I think the original has some unused potential which was overlooked by the app.

I like this shot. The colors are strong and the composition fits the scene. I think you are right that the rain and the clouds really do make the scene better. I always find it interesting that people abandon vehicles on their land and just let them rust away. I see it here, too, primarily in rural settings. There must be a story to go with it.

Nice shot. I like the bow wake that tells the viewer the boat is moving quickly, so there's energy in the image. The bridge runs across the image and visually ties the two sides together. There are foreground, middle, and distant objects to hold the viewer's attention. I agree with Jerry that it might be good to do a little straightening. It may just be a personal preference for me, but the black cloud bottoms don't look completely natural.

Another wonderful landscape image. You live in a beautiful area of our country, and you utilize that advantage well. Good composition and well saturated, too. Nice blue sky and fluffy clouds.

It made me smile. I think it's fun that we immediately know what the green figure represents. Fun sign and shot.
