Thank you for your comments. As I mentioned replying to previous comments, the crop was intentional. I suppose our personal preferences apply when we edit our images. Thank you for the suggestions.

Thank you for your kind comments. When I found the scene, my thoughts were the much the same as yours. |

Thank you for your comments. The crop was intentional for both composition and context.
Walking in alleys is reasonably safe here and on Sunday mornings, it is mostly quiet. There are places I won't go, of course.

Thanks, Dave, for your comments. You understand why I cropped the image like I did. I wanted to show more than the door. Just photographing someone else's art isn't proper. Showing the context relieves that tension. That's a whole discussion for another time.

This was a good idea and a challenge. I think you've done a good job with it. I do have a comment: The lighting seems to be directly overhead. In that case, the darkened left side of the flower seems out of place. If the light is coming from the right enough to cause the flower to be darker on the left, then the flower would cast a shadow onto the manhole, but it doesn't. All that is fixable with additional edits.

Very nice scene. The even separation of the green and yellow is fascinating. If there was a red tractor, you'd have RGB covered. I'll guess the crop was done to fit your annual calendar, so that's fine. The Palouse makes for some wonderful landscapes.

Cicadas are noisy little critters. Just one can make quite a racket, and a large group can be nearly deafening. Even with that, they are interesting insects. I agree with Dave that the crop works well for this long slender bug. An attached sound file would have been great!

The effort you put into this image paid off. The water looks great and the non-moving items are sharp and detailed. The sky is great, too. Nicely done. It's a keeper.

I would say that the first thing for me would be to level the horizon. But that's just me, maybe others wouldn't mind the tilt. Trying to level the scene with Snapseed may crop the top of her head a bit - which I wouldn't prefer. The pole and the tire aren't a problem for me. They show how your granddaughter is supported in the scene. What I would suggest is to crop a little from the right to move her more center. Also I would brighten the right side of her face and hair a little to ease the shadow there. Lastly, I'd add a ND filter to the bottom edge to slightly darken the dock. There is one thing I don't understand: The horizon line on the left is blurred, but on the right it is not. is that something you edited? BTW, I like this shot of your granddaughter. Good summertime image and a memory shot. Thanks for the chance to edit your image.
