51 Jan 18 Comment The wet asphalt makes a great textured background for the colorful leaf. The water drops add texture and interest. I like the angled composition, too. Nicely done. I don't know what may have been just outside the frame that you may have wanted to exclude, but I think a bit wider crop might be interesting to try. Jan 11th
51 Jan 18 Comment Phill, I'm not sure where to start. You already know I like this image and I understand the work that went into creating it. Thank you for posting the original image of your granddaughter, too. That original black and white image is so very good. Her expression says so much to me. What she has in her fingers creates more mystery. The shoes seem oversized for her small frame. There is an untold story here. Love it. You are so creative. The individual who ranted about the finished image is just jealous. It's that plain and simple. Jan 10th
51 Jan 18 Comment This is a nice fall scene. All the elements are strong. The tree is pointing to the water, and I think it looks like the tree and that dark rock outcrop are having a conversation about the lake. Nicely seen. Jan 10th

51 Jan 18 Comment I like black and white. That treatment, the subject, and the composition make me think about film and the photographers of the days before digital. Because of that, I might have added some grain to get a tri-x feeling. As the others have commented, it's a very nice image. Jan 8th
51 Jan 18 Comment I like the pose and the expression. The colors are good, too. The beige costume and the warm neutral background make me focus on that great face. Nicely done.

I will add that, like Pamela, I have submitted phone camera images to club competitions and have done very well with them. I didn't tell anyone they were phone photos until afterward to prevent equipment bias during the judging.		 Jan 8th
