Colorful dancer, translucent veil and Shanghai cityscape all combine to make for a captivating image! The veil, captured suspended in the air and rendered translucent by the luminosity mask, adds to the drama. I feel that the city background is sufficiently darkened and does not distract from the main subject. My only minor suggestion would be to slightly tone down (or reduce the opacity of) the reflection of the dancer's feet. This image should do well in the FIAP salon!! |

A very well-composed seascape which allows the eye to move out from shore to horizon! It seems the half-second exposure was just sufficient to blur the water and create a soothing effect without removing too much detail. I also like the patches of blue sky which add a color accent to the scene. My only suggestion would be to slightly tone down the bright sky at upper left which tends to draw my eye away from the water. |

This image illustrates so well how tonality alone can create a compelling composition with a nearly monochromatic palette. The mountains form undulating lines which lead the viewer's eye to the bridge at right. Bob, your use of the linear gradient to brighten the foreground improves the image. Finally, you might try cropping a bit more from the top to make the hills and mountains (the main subject) even more prominent in the scene. Overall, nicely done! |

An imaginative image that tends toward the abstract. The title "sheds light" (sorry) on the concept! Since the image background merges with the black background of the web page, I agree with Frans that it needs a border. |

With sharp textural detail everywhere, this image is a feast for the eyes! I wouldn't change anything except to flip it horizontally. This motivates me to buy Helicon! |

A great capture at the decisive moment of takeoff! I like the background but would crop slightly up from the bottom to place the swans more off-center. I would also increase color temperature to warm up the image. Finally, increasing Clarity in Lightroom might add sharper detail to the expressive splashes of water behind each swan.
Being able to shoot at 1/10000 sec should open up new horizons in action photography for you! |
