Doug, thanks for your helpful comments! Until you pointed it out, I did not notice that the bottom leaf was overlapping the middle one. I will try to clone out the overlap and tone down the upper 2 leaf groups. |

Donna, thanks for your constructive comments! It was not a nighttime excursion but shot in the comfort of late afternoon (against a shaded background). I agree that the right-hand leaf was the most photogenic, and you've isolated it well in your revised image. |

Tom, thanks for your helpful comment! Flipping the image definitely helps to lead the eye into the image. |

Thanks to all for your constructive comments! These leaves definitely struck me as an example of wabi sabi (beauty in imperfection, impermanence and incompleteness). |

It may be fortunate that you captured this image in fading light because the lighting is very even! Also, there is no noise that I can see. My eye is drawn to the intricate detail in the center of the white flower. However, I find that the petals are somewhat lacking in detail. You might try selecting the petals or entire flower and increasing the Clarity and/or Contrast sliders in Lightroom to emphasize petal detail. |

You caught the sun at just the right moment in its rise - bright enough to light the scene but not overwhelm it. Bluff, foreground and ocean retain detail, and the fenceposts form a leading line. I do find the bright break in the clouds at upper left to be a distraction that competes with the sunrise. Cropping down from the top to more of a letterbox format would remove it from the scene. |

I, too, was surprised that architecture like this could be found in New Jersey! I like the strong leading lines that take the viewer in along the arches at left towards the temple at right. The glistening walkway and sky add a "just after a light rain" vibe to the whole scene. Nicely done! |

This is a good example of high-key photography. The flower is sharp and the orange-yellow center stands out. But I agree that the background is too bright and makes flower detail in the petals harder to discern. Toning down the background would strengthen the image. |

I agree with Donna and Meredith. Woman and baby are nicely posed, but background is distracting. You can blur or tone it down. |
