A visually interesting pier, and the added sky does complement the image. I agree that it can be cropped a bit from the top. However, I have to disagree with your camera club (sorry!) about cropping out the beach, as I find it chops off too much of the foreground surf. Maybe try a little less cropping here? Also, the image has a somewhat cool color cast. I would consider warming it up to indicate the presence of sunlight. |

The image works for me in black and white because it has a full range of tonalities. Well-done! |

Cell phone cameras keep getting better and better! I agree - great swirly detail in this sharp image. One small quibble: the petal at lower left is a little too noticeable because (unlike the other petals in the scene) it is cropped off near its tip. It seems (to me at least) that the cropping rule applying to human limbs also applies to flower petals: If you have to crop, do it at the "midpoint" and not near the "tip". For this image, simply crop up a bit from the bottom to move the image edge closer to the petal midpoint. |

Great capture of pelicans in formation - they appear to be in "glide mode"! Image is sharp and there is sufficient detail in the birds. I agree with Lori that some additional sky features are needed. Have you considered using a "sky replacement" tool to add clouds? |

The lion has a nice mane but definitely appears to be sleeping! The image is sharp where it counts - around face and mane. The distracting effect of the bright background could be reduced by cropping in from bottom, left and right edges. |
