I agree with the others - the image is well-exposed, well-composed and sharp throughout. The black background and controlled lighting emphasize the structure of the leaves. The image works for me as a study in leaf patterns, detailed textures and subtle changes in color. |

A well-posed flower image with vibrant colors! The Topaz filter and vignette add to the scene. I do not mind some of the petals being partially out-of-focus, but the bright area on the stem is distracting and should be toned down, if possible. I also agree with Doug that the photo is cropped too close, especially at left and right edges. Overall, tho, well-done! |

Donna, perfectly exposed image of succulent!! Use of black-and-white emphasizes the tonal gradations, not only in the spikes, but in the leaves themselves. I find the 2 leaves in center (beautifully outlined - do you see "2 penguins in a courtship dance"?) the center of interest, and the 2 bright leaves at lower right and left somewhat distracting. A bit of careful cropping plus burning/cloning (at lower left) may increase the image's impact (see my attempt below):

The architecture of the castle and the surrounding trees indeed make for a peaceful image! The fence as a leading line takes your eye in towards the castle area. I would crop out the shadow and green tent at the right border, but no more. The person standing by the fence gives a needed sense of scale and should be left in. Finally, I agree with Rich that some perspective correction could be tried (in Photoshop, for instance) to straighten the castle. |

Well-done image of the horse! Exposure is good, colors are natural, and hair texture is sharp on face and neck. However, the horse's mane is slightly soft, so I would try similar future shots at a higher depth-of-field. Selective sharpening of the mane area might work, too. I would also try cropping and/or cloning out the distracting tree branches at left. |
