A very creative treatment of a strong portrait! Hair, eyes and facepaint make this subject really stand out in B/W. However, I find the hand area too dark and would like to see more detail here. Also, the left jawline and adjacent pipestem are too soft. Overall, though, well done! I just have to get Topaz Studio 2!! |

A great capture! The bent posture of the horse and expression on the girl's face add to the drama. And the strong textures in fence and dirt give the image a gritty feel which adds to the tenseness of the moment. To me, the background is not distracting, yet it provides context. However, shadow at center right edge is a bit distracting; consider cropping or cloning it out. |

A well-done scenic! You've captured the rolling hills of the Palouse quite well with the sunset lighting. I am not too distracted by the blue barn in the center - I would keep it in and just darken it. However, I find the barn near the center-right edge more distracting. Again, keep it in and just tone it down. |

For an image taken from a boat, this is very sharp! The background is also very dark and subdued, only allowing the lily reflection to be seen. I might crop in a little from the right to reduce empty space. |
