A compelling PJ shot that really draws you in! The low angle emphasizes that this is largely a contest of leg power. And with one exception, you caught expressions of exertion on everyone's face. The posing man, looking out at the viewer, breaks the head-down pattern of the other contenders and adds interest to the composition. And what is he saying? I tend to think he is calling back to his team members to "pull harder!!". |

I agree that this image shows superb sharpness that brings out the texture of the ducks' feathers. Also, very slight differences in lighting (especially around the eyes) between the composites gives the impression that these are actually 3 different ducks. Subdued background and a horizontal format further add to the image. The compositing is perfect except that the outline of the left hand duck's chin is slightly visible through the bill of the middle duck. Overall, though, very well done! |

The image is well-composed with flower center sharp and colors vibrant. However, I find the stamens at center just a bit too bright - selective toning down here should help. Also, though I like blurred areas in floral images, I tend to favor having more of the flower in focus than shown here. Try experimenting with a greater depth of field in future images. Overall, though, job well done! |

This is a well-exposed sunset capture with an impressive display of clouds. The sunlight does not overwhelm the rest of the scene and the silhouetted power lines provide added interest. Since the present image is largely a study in cloud patterns, you might try cropping in towards the center of interest: sun, poles and clouds immediately above them. This would give you a different image, possibly having greater impact. |
