Three happy people! I prefer the edited image with the blind cloned out. And I find that the diagonal railing, and the high angle shot with subjects looking down, make this a distinctive group portrait. Well done! |

Beautifully done! The reflection is just strong enough to complement the image without overpowering it. And the muted black background makes the model stand out all the more. |

A well-photographed sunset lake scenic. Colors stand out against a darkening background, the boats act as leading lines pulling you into the scene, and the water is intricately rippled. I am not bothered by the violent thunderclouds in the otherwise peaceful scene. These contrasting tendencies produce a creative tension and make me think of "the calm before the storm". However, I would crop in from the left to remove the small distracting red cloud and tone down the 2 red spots at the right edge. Overall, tho, well-done! |

You shot the butterfly with its wings closed, making all parts of the insect equally distant from the lens and hence easier to get in focus when shooting handheld. However, the upper wings remain just out of focus. As Herb suggested, a higher ISO would allow greater depth of field and hence complete sharpness. The background behind the butterfly is well-muted. However, the pink flowers below are somewhat overexposed. Cropping in from bottom and left would remove some distracting blossoms and make the butterfly more prominent. |

You say that this was a quick photo - did you shoot it handheld? If so, it's impressively sharp for a 0.4 second exposure! I agree that it conveys a mood of serenity but that the window area at back needs to be toned down. |

A dramatic capture of climbers trudging up a snowy slope! The image is sharp with strong rock and ice textures. The climbers stand out well against the white background and the blue shadows emphasize the icy nature of the terrain. I would consider cropping in about 25% from the left to make the climbers more prominent in the scene and emphasize their vertical route of ascent. |
