I thank everyone for their helpful comments! To me, this image has 3 centers of interest: the rosettes at top left and top right, and the chandelier at bottom, together forming a triangle connected by dark lines. However, I also agree that the rest of the image background makes it too busy. I also agree that a vertical shot would have shown the whole window and made for a stronger composition. |

It didn't fail for me! The white edges fit in perfectly with the hi-key look, acting as a vignette. Yet the important facial details are preserved. My only quibble (which can be easily corrected) is that the red lips appear somewhat oversaturated. Overall, a very creative image! |

I agree with the others. A great capture, perfectly timed, which tells a humorous story! Background sky is overexposed, but John's suggested adjustments (see above) correct for this. This image should do well in salons in the Photojournalism or Phototravel category. |

A beautiful image of an unusual variety of peacock. You did a good job removing background elements. Image is sharp, capturing the edge detail in the feathers. However, feathers near center, around bird's body, are somewhat lacking in detail. Since you have Lightroom, you might try reducing Highlights a bit more and increasing Clarity. Finally, I am not bothered by the white blossoms in background and feel that they actually add to the composition. |

Great wildlife capture with lots of detail. Though the lioness is not facing the camera, you still have her face in profile. At present, the image lacks contrast. If you have a RAW file and Lightroom, you could try increasing Clarity and Contrast. I also agree with John's suggestions, particularly the cropping. |

Just about everything works here: lighting, exposure, sharpness, and pose. The vignette is also nicely done. My only minor quibble is that the hot pink background is a bit overpowering. Overall, though, well-done!! |

A good scenic capture showing the wide sweep of the valley. Depth of field is good and colors are vibrant. The clouds at center background are somewhat blown out, but can be selectively toned down. However, the image could be most improved by cropping in, which would focus more attention on the midground detail in the floor of the valley. Cropping in from the edges would also eliminate distracting elements (rock at bottom, elbow (?) at mid-left and gate on road at right). |
