If I pass by and see this deer on stove top, I will definitely stop and take a look. |

Interesting subject of this image. The winch and net are colorful and attracted my eyes. Except you tone down the building also I would blur them a bit. |

You captured a right moment with clear surfer face expression. Your question " it looks still too bright". I have Checked in your image and found few spots, the white tonal values are very close to clipping value. As you can see in attached copy, the tonal values are 243,244,253,255. The Surfer body white tone are 211, 240 ... All these spots are not clipping yet, That means you still can fix it. To fix these too bright spots just reduce "Highlight" value in Camera Raw. Couple very small spots are clipping at 255, we can't do any thing, because there is no data/information. We can ignored or paint it.
If you want to fix more accurate, I would use layer mask to adjust these too bright spots one by one. |

That's how I did per my comments. It's similar as Rich's. |

Very good pattern image, I like your diatonic composition with simple pattern. My eyes are looking from right up corner to left down and studently stop. I would see more extended at left down corner. |

Very nice starry sky photo. I would adjust the sky tone cooler to dark blue and increase contrast. |

Very good shot!
The hummingbird is sharp, I like the diagonal composition, I would not to crop any thing. I have little nitpick, the whole picture tone is too warm-yellow, I would change it little cooler. The white spot of the petals is attracted my eyes, I would burn it down a little bit. |

Thank you for comments.
Yes, I did used tripod. The camera setting for this image:
Nikon D800, 24-12-mm lens, focus at 85mm, f/22 1/40 sec.
I used varied different shutter speeds, like 1.3, 1/10...to get the different results. I attached two images with shutter speeds 1/8 sec and 1.3 sec for your reference. |
