I did not know we had wild horses in the sierras! Your nature story was well presented and described. If you live in the Bay Area, you have the same addition and subtraction rules as I do for nature if you belong to a camera club. Yes old age is sad! |

It is truly spectacular! At first I thought you had just inverted the top image but on closer inspection it is real. It is too bad that they are not cute because the teeth would prevent a lot of folks from buying this image. Amazing what creativity can do! Congratulations! |

f22 did not help you because the paddle boarder is out of focus. I would suggest taking a second image the same spot at 1/00 sec with a lower f number and higher ISO. Focus on the paddle boarder. Add the paddle border as a layer to the first image. Mask all but the paddle boarder. Make adjustments so the paddle boarder looks like the scene. Cut out the extra paddle boarder near the edge. |

It works for me. Early morning light you have detail I the feathers. I bet you could get more by adding contrast in the whites after toning them down in ACR or light room. But I like it better soft and fluffy. I had no idea the herons ate other birds. I would burn down the background light shapes. If you wante, you can crop the image to show the bird without so much environment. |

You got rid of the noise too. I like the shutter speed that shows the wings in motion. The camera will frustrate you but take excellent photos from my experience. The sharpness throughout the body is perfect as well as your background. I love the cool background colors and the florescent yellowgreen on the insect. |

Yes a bird would be nice; a silhouette. We too get gorgeous sunsets but not with the thunderstorms and hail. Glad you shared the photo. It is beautiful nature! And with Graeton's explanation would do well in that category as is as is . |
