Because I am weight limited 83, I use a digital rebel that does not have all the fancy software built in to it as the better camera do. I don't feel that using the Topaz filter to reduce nose is a cheat. I shoot as a photojournalist told me to by using auto ISO; which works well for handheld subjects that a relatively stationary. I really bump up the ISO for birds and handle the noise with the software. |

Nice travel shot. I would either darken the bright area on the right or crop it off. The eye usually goes to the most contrasty pat of the photo which is not the statue. you could select it and increase its contrast and then lesson the contrast on the retainer of the photo. That would draw attention to the statue. |

Yes, ! I like it!It is a completely different interpretation. I could still enter it that way in nature if I don't bnoiolate rules. It did well in pictorial.

You have a diagonal of boats from the bottom left to the upper right. The orange vests make enhanced interest. Your story make the photojournalism category perfectly. I like the angle you have on the scene. You caught the fun! |

Crazy bird...no head? Great story, well told! Great photo. Maybe you might consider selecting the bird and brightening it a bit. A nature winner for sure! |

You got it! My eye enters the photo from the left along the smoke and moves to the lower orange cars; and there is a conductor there! Wow! Probably very early light so that takes it up a notch too. The photo has everything: Composition, interest, lighting and technique. |

Looking at the photo, I started trying to decide how I would crop it to emphasize the bridges. Then I noticed that Judith did it for me. It would be improved, pictorially, if you had shot it a bit earlier so that the bus was a similar distance from the left edge instead to the right edge. Color and exposure are fine! and it looks sharp. |

My parents lived on a lake in Florida. An alligator ate their dog! So you title is right on! The green scum certainly adds to the threat. I would like to have more of the cabin on the right for my composition. Everything else is so realistic and well presented. I can feel the humidity. |
