Great story! Crocus flowers are very sharp. I think the composition could be improved by cropping out some of the pathway. Looking at the comments above, I would crop some off the bottom and left side. I had a had time deciding exactly. You could get in closer to the flowers that way! |

Great photojournalism! Not sure if I like the area on the left between the tree and the edge. If it were cropped it would give more space for the rhino to walk. (Almost sounds like current politics!). The safari vehicle just missed the rhino! Great story. If you dropout the sfari vehicle you loose habitat. The hand of man is part of the story. That may be a tough sell to nature judges.
The hornbills is again a gorgeous shot. I don't mind the out of focus leaves. You are wearing through foliage! It isn't the lens at fault; the leaves are too close. You could darken those leaves a bit there. |

Thanks for the photo and the description of the lighting. A friend of mine showed some photos of flowers that almost looked like X-rays. Light on your tulip is perfect!
The graceful composition is lovely! So glad you are in this group to spark my interest away for documentary! Thank you!

Love It! All I would do is crop from the left so that the lighthouse is less centered and the bright patch of light on the left edge is out of the photo. The lighting on the grass then points to the light house as well. The "fire" in the beam is compelling! |

I was surprised to see how the smoke direction affected the image. I think this has great possibilities! I did not read the other comments first, so this is my take: To me, the candle should be lit and the lighting should look like it was coming from the candle. The inkwell should be on the right since that is where the was the pen is put. I would redistribute the other items instead of it all so centered on a the center of the table. The glasses case should be further back back as well as the finished card for example. |
